Pull up a barstool and take a load off, folks. Life's too short to argue politics ALL the time, so leave it at the door and we'll get along just fine.

OK, so some of us are a little strange. but far as I know, nobody bites.

Coffee, tea... or something stronger? [IMG]

Belly up to the bar, y'all. Drop a quarter in the juker and entertain yourself til the bartender sobers up... I mean shows up. Everybody's welcome here.

I know that's right... just a little bit of everything and I'd be happy. *koff*

Nice tune! Reminds me of: "She is yours, after a time you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all...as wanting. It is not logical but, it is often true" -Spock quote. Not sure that after say 50 years of marital 'bliss' one would want his 'blushing bride' dancing on a bar. Just sayin....:alcoholic: OOPS! Holding serving tray for a shield now....

    Howdy folks.
So, hubby and I are on that new health kick, eating mostly vegetarian anyway, we decided to kick the carbs to the curb for a month. Oh the horror, no bread, pasta, cookies. I am drooling just thinking about it.

Mornin, Shang. I can relate to your cravings... I'm back on WW to shed those extra lbs that creeped on after I quit smoking. So far, so good. Nearly done with week 2... 6 lbs down.

Gotta Diva trip to the beach planned for May. Now theres some motivation for ya.

I dont mind trading carbs for proteins but if youre trading 'em for veggies, thats downright cruel. Hope you don't get rickets or something. :(

Its not to shed pounds, at least not for me. Hubby is getting a bit of a tummy, but not too bad. Its more to combat some health problems, and every bit helps.
Of course, if the side effect is a butt like a 15 year old....

for the Diva trip...all together now

Well, I hope it helps, but be sure you get some protein. Do you remember my ole SB, the vegan, who came down with pernicious anemia? Made her crazy (ier). Dont let that happen to you!

Why looky there, I can post pics today. :)

    Id rather roll.
Less impact on the joints and I can tamp down an area for the blankets. A win/win in my book.

What times the party so I can roll on up to it?

Rolling might be a problem since its real flat down there. Any chance you could borrow one of these?

    Nevermind. Cant post pics now.

Have you considered seeing if their is a leisure learning center in your area (or equivalent) offering a variety of dance courses? If anyone offers ballet lessons, that would seem to be ideal. Larger cities often have ethnic dance courses (Chinese or Indian/Pakistani). Anyway something along those lines would still be physically challenging while being far less boring.

By the way as a slow motion Tai Chi practitioner I know from boring!

Yes, my right hand, esp middle finger, get a thorough workout everyday on this tiny little keyboard. Other than that, not much.

A group of zumba enthusiasts rented a storefront in a strip shopping center. You can see them workin it since its a glass storefront. I thought about joining since they meet at 6 am mwf, but Id be the only Caucasian in the place and I'm afraid theyd laff at me and call me names.

There is new walking track near my house. I drive past it on my way to Sonic.

    Oh, nowww it works.

You know, I always wanted to learn how to tango and all those type dances. That's a damn good idea, Gatewood! Thanks. Im gonna check it out. Maybe they have a class that would fit my schedule. This could be good! lol

Yeah I tried yoga but in all honesty didn't give it proper attention. Im sure its beneficial in many ways but stretching and moving slow isn't for me. I cant stand in a line without moving some body part. Im moving my leg up and down sitting her typing. How do you slow down so slow and not have your body wanna just rush out moving quick? Is it like a...mind over matter type thing?

This made me laugh out loud!
I do the zumba from youtube. I skeeve going into a room to have other people sweat like pigs near me. Aint gonna happen.

I went in a gym once. Needed directions. The chick at the counter said, ask the guy at the juice bar. Go through that door. I heard bar. That's all I heard and thought man this is cool. You exercise here and get all tanked up after. Wrong!

Anyway, I walk past all the people sweating, straining, breathing stale air and sitting on sweat wet equiptment to get directions. No directions. No beer and walking out I thought, man that's skeevy.

Id love to take boxing classes but Im afraid Id regress to rude, crude, wild yankee chick. Ive been southern demure for a few years now.

    Where's my hankee?
This is the youtube one I do.

I'll need affidavits from two people over 18 who've seen you do that dance all the way thru.

    Made me sweat just watching.

Here is the truth. Its hard watching them and following those steps till you do it a bunch of times. Or at least it was for me. I do that a few times and then dance to these. Its about a half an hour of songs at the end. I try to make it a half an hour anyway. I do it 3x's a week. I honest to God do.

Well I'm impressed, falena. If I wasnt forced to walk from the parking lot to the bldg and back, I'd probably be a slug.

Maybe someday Ill try out that walking track. Its kinda hilly, I better bring my Segway.

Shang still does my running for me. I only run now if somebody is chasing me. Depending on who it is...not very fast either. ;)
