Im doing this in the bar because this bar has always been home to me.

I was in the woods in NY on 911. I had no clue what was going on till I got in the truck to come home. I turned on the radio and thought the station was playing a war of the worlds type thing. I switched stations to find every station was saying the same thing. I got on the highway and not a soul in sight. No traffic or planes in the sky. They said on the radio all bridges and tunnels were closed. I had to cross the Newburgh Bridge to get home. No way on Gods green earth anything was going to stop me from getting to my family. I got close to the bridge thinking if they are going to blow this up let me unroll my windows if I have to get out fast. A ridiculous thought but I did it. I couldn't think of anything else to do other than that. The fear was real and not like anything Ive ever felt before. I got to the bridge to cross the Hudson River and the banner on the bridge read, 'God Bless America'.

Every year I type that 'God Bless America', I cant help but get water in my eyes.

God rest the souls of those lost on that day and after from it. God give the friends, family and all Americans comfort today and everyday.

Thanks Falena...We should never forget. I remember seeing it on the news and really not believing what I was seeing. I had to go out and do some scheduled work and it was everywhere. People were basically stunned and didn't know how to act or what to do.

I remember feeling at first confused. Like what the hell is going on here. Then it was pure survival mode to get home. Unroll the windows but the fall would kill me. I had the .30.30 on me if I needed it but for what I didn't know. When I finally got home it was a is everyone we know alright?

I was unemployed on 9/11 and had an appt for a phone guy to add a line. I didn't know anything had happened til I answered the door and the phone guy told me. He came in and we both sat down and watched it on Tv. Just in time to see the second strike. It felt surreal. Still does until you realize it was not only real, but could happen again. Seems like yesterday. :(

I had flown to El Paso the night before. I was waiting at my hotel for parts to be flown to me. They arrived at 0630 that morning. I woke up in the hotel 10 minutes before the second plane hit. After the second plane hit, I picked up my parts at the airport. It was a ghost town. When I got to city hall to fix their equipment, they were barricading their entrances with city vehicles and told me I had to leave. The equipment I was there to fix backed up their 911 system and my contact pulled some strings to get me in the building. I installed my part and left in 15 minutes. I went to the airport and changed my car rental to a one way from a local. My wife was 6 weeks from delivering our 3rd son and she wanted me home. I averaged about 90 mph and was pulled over once. The cop let me off with a warning. Gas prices were up about 50 cents/gallon in some of the remote West Texas towns. I saw the second tower fall while at a gas station. I drove to Love Field and picked up my car and got home in Mesquite in 10 hours. Coworkers were stuck in strange cities for 2 days until the airports opened again.

    Where is anybody?

My last post is the last post on this thread and it was the 14th. That means it
was... uh... about... hmmm... earlier in this week since anybody has lied about
their age or anything they've done.

I think it was this week.

    Is anybody here?

My last post is the last post on this thread and it was the 14th. That means it
was... uh... OUCH! My brain hurts... hmmm... earlier in this week since anybody
has lied about their age or anything they've done.

    Was it this week?

    Hey, where is anybody?

My last post is the last post on this thread and it was the 14th. That means it
was... I feel like I'm repeating myself.

It feels like deja vu all over again.

Maybe it wasn't this thread? Oh! My head. My brain hurts. It will have to
    come out.

    Question.

Is it today or not? I can't tell.

I'll be under table 3 if anybody has an answer.

    What's the question?

Makes no nevermind as to Today or Tomorrow or Tomorrow.
What matters most is whether One feels right with whatever day it is.
Makes no difference if a Monday or a Thursday. Those are only stamps
as to time frame.Makes no difference as to if one is 35,45 or 55.
The blood flowing in our veins cares not about what day of the week it is.
Our heart make care a wee bit if it's our birthday but probably much more
over a lost loved one.Which means it's our Spirit that counts.
Our Soul. Our Spirit can actually be more beautiful as we age.In fact it should be.
That is what defines our true character or lack thereof.

The Soul selects her own Society --
Then -- shuts the door --
    To her divine Majority --
    Present no more --

That's a great philosophy Foolie. Appreciation is the key to a good life IMO. We humans are built to sense negativity because it is usually a precursor to bad things happening and sensing it before it happens is what keeps us alive. Therefore, it is much more difficult to 'feel right' and comfortable. Especially these days where we are bombarded with negativity via the media that seek it out.

Can anyone tell me about water filters? I bought a britta jug but it seems, though it improves the taste, t doesn't remove the chlorine. My water was so chlorinated that I couldn't quench my thirst from it. I even heard 8 cups of water go into my skin when I have a shower.
