Does anyone know? Does anyone care?

It sure isn't What's-His-Name. Unless, you want to call him "Not Trump". But then, it could be anyone. Is Skynet who you voted for? Is a world where reality television is more real than reality what you voted for?

Why do you think Biden isn't running the country?

    Reality tv is Trump's resume.

Biden is "running" the country, in that final decisions on executive matters are made by him.

Trump lost. Biden is worse in my view but that doesn't change the fact that he won.

Just look at America's 'ban on boycotts' protecting Israel calling all those who support Palestinian rights as Antisemitic.

I never checked out his shoes. Do they have laces? Regardless, he probably has people for that.

Is that your complaint here today? That he can't tie his laces?

Your thread reminded me of The Beatles song "Nowhere Man".

    Nowhere Man, don't worry,
    Take your time, don't hurry,
Leave it all, 'til somebody else lends you a hand,

Doesn't have a point of view,
Knows not where he's going to ...

Yep. Ties his shoes. Pisses standing up. Shits sitting down. Makes executive decisions after consulting experts albeit I’ve read he gets annoyed with academic or corporate jargon and will dress you down if you can’t present info without wading into that word salad. Also read he prioritizes calls from his wife, kids, and grandkids.

I'm pretty straight-forward. Who do you think is running the country? Is it the rock or the guy who's dumber than a rock?

Well 53% of the country approve at the moment - so someone has to think he is doing an OK job

And mate - you have to come up with some specifics if you are going to persuade people otherwise

The same "powers that be" that is always running it regardless of who is sitting in the POTUS chair.

As I said at least 53z believe he is doing a good job which means 53% believe HE is running the country

Now unless you are trolling for QANON and want to try and validate the latest wacko conspiracy you have your answer

we are democrats, and elected, in a landslide, a government responsive to the will of the people.

we are americans, and real americans do not want, or need a strongman like trump or a "decider" like g w bush. we have (when effectively led) a competent bureaucracy to "run the country"

buden seems ti have appointed the kind of effective public sector managers that can restore their departments to their lawful missions. contrast with the flamboyant millionaires appointed by the last guy. they either did not know, or did not care, that their departments are vital to "running " the government.

See my Sig - Trump tried hard for a Kleptocracy and the full extent of how much he succeeded will slowly come out.

This is something I think needs to be badly reformed in America - although the president and congress should have the power to sack top bureaucrats they should not be able to appoint any.

The people running the USA (like most countries) are administrators, engineers, doctors, nurses, teachers, drivers, builders... etc. Have you ever noticed that when legislatures aren't sitting or during transitions of office, everything just keeps on working?

The people ruling the USA is a different question. Given that it is a federal union, there are lots of those at different levels of government, local, state and federal. The whole point of the system is that no one individual or group are entirely in control, hence the balance between the three branches of federal government and the balance between federal and state powers (in theory at least). Though the sitting President can be seen as the most powerful single individual, even they aren't free to do anything they want without question or challenge.

I thought you guys have all of this drilled in to you at school.
