Special Counsel Robert Hur says Biden 'willfully' kept classified documents but won't be prosecuted

“Special counsel Robert Hur concluded in a stinging report released Thursday that President Joe Biden willfully kept classified documents from his time as vice president, shared them with an author and knew he had them as far back as 2017, but he recommended against prosecution…

"Our investigation uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen," the report concluded.

Hur found that the materials that Biden secreted from the White House were higjly sensitive including “marked classified documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan and notebooks containing Mr. Biden’s handwritten entries about issues of national security and foreign policy implicating sensitive intelligence source and methods.”

The prosecutor revealed that Biden knew he had classified documents at his home back in 2017 and shared some of the information with the ghostwriter for his memoir published that year.

Hur's conclusions present a stark contrast to what fellow Special Counsel Jack Smith did in prosecuting former President Donald Trump for keeping similaly classified materials at his Mar A Lago home.”

He’s got a D after his name and he’s not Trump. How they rationalize charging one former President but not another the latter had the Presidential Records Act codified for him and two who never were President when taking documents totally get off Scott free.

Also quantity. Not only did Biden assist authorities in recovering all the documents in his possession from day one - to the point of proactively searching and bringing records to the attention of federal authorities, the number of records actually found in Biden's possession was very small and, for the most part consisted of personal notes made by him of meetings he attended while he was VP.

Contrast this with Trump's conduct. He actively worked to prevent the recovery of classified documents, not only attempting to hide them but from authorities but also lying about being in possession of them in the first place! Not only that the bulk of the documents recovered from Trump were official records and correspondence with classification headers!

The one who was a former president who declassified documents he took while he was president was negotiating over what would go where until they broke off negotiations with Trump because they intended to disregard the Presidential Records Act that among those discussed only applied to him.

 

He's a Republican, per norm, when appointing a SC historically. The only time this did not occur, was Mueller and Trump. So, I'm answering in good faith assuming you were not knowledgable on the party related to SC and history facts.

The way you get charged for this is by lying or hiding evidence. Joe did neither.

 

He and Hillary both….They both broke laws that others doing similar things have done serious time for.

 

He has not once claimed in court that they are declassified and you’re leaving how they sent him a subpoena for them and he lied and said he gave it all back….then tried to delete the video of footage of his goons hiding stuff.

Nobody goes to jail for having classified documents, unless they lie to the FBI, or try to destroy evidence. You won’t find one case where that is not the situation

This bloke Hur should do his job. If he found evidence of the commission of an offence, he has a duty to prosecute if that evidence is sufficient to establish a prima facie case. Was he not appointed by the Republicans to undertake this investigation?
