I saw "Spectre" on November 6 and, although I did not think it was as good as "Skyfall," this movie did have the trademark James Bond action scenes. My favorite scene was at the beginning in Mexico City when Day of the Dead was being celebrated and the helicopter was hovering over the crowd and looked like it was going to crash right into them. If you have seen "Spectre," what did you think of this movie?
I haven't seen it.....but I do plan on seeing it. I have seen all of the Bond films on the Big Screen.
Heya Ronstar. Here was the teaser trailer.
Here was the other one.
It's a cult! SPECTRE is the origin of 007. No way, I do adore when never-ending sequels go back to the origin. Al the life: SPECTRE VS James Bond!
They run this one where it ties into Skyfall.....that's what I heard. Either way I will be looking forward to it. I know quite a few women that like the Bond films. The old with Connery. The new with Brosnan and now Craig. Of course, I have enjoyed the Bond Women over the years. Bond is like Elvis when it comes to his girls.
I saw it this weekend and really enjoyed it. Honest to goodness action with crazy-non CGI stunts just do not get old.
Haven't seen any of them yet but did get the other three a few days ago on blueray. Will watch them first.
I thought Bond was created to counter SMERSH. SMERSH, (Smyert Shipioniam "Death to Spies") actually existed in WWII. It was a branch of the infamous party commissars in the Red Army. In Fleming's books it was the Russian's assassination bureau and the "Double OO's) were created to counter it. SPECTRE, (Special Command for Terror, Revenge and Extortion) was a later creation, and I'm not really sure it was even Fleming's, though I think it was. It's not Russian nor, of course, ever really existed. I'm trying to figure whether to see this or The Heart of the Sea, I can't abide two theatre visits so close so I'm going to wait for one on television, I think Sea will be better in 3d so I'm leaning that way now. Aren't they supposed to put these out in the summer?
Good movie but worse than Skyfall and Casino Royale, slightly better than Quantum. The new Blofield was a great villain, I'll say that.- overall the film was too rushed and over-the-top compared to the others - some of the scenes were way too over-the-top, such as Bond blowing up the entire top-secret base by shooting a random gas tank by pure luck. Not to mention the cliche where instead of just killing Bond, the villain invites him to his base and reveals his entire secret plan, and then decides to kill him in some complicated way allowing Bond to escape.
I never watched bond until the last reboot. I think Spectre served as a great swan song to the craig era. Skyfall also could have done that but it was cool to see Bond's background. It was really just generic bond stiff but that;s still OK. The plot with it's political pretences was good enough but mercifully didn't obstruct the scenes. Thought the swiss women was kind of annoying. The best scene was the one with the mouse. One of the few occasions where bond was really humanised.
