Last night I stupidly knocked over a bottle which was above my tower (which is pretty much an open grate/mesh for air flow) dumping a good amount of beer directly into my PC and the screen went black. Obviously something shorted. Took all the components out and let dry and today it booted up just fine So lucky. Thought for sure something would have fried. Now I just need to figure out how to get rid of the smell of skunked beer. . .cause my PC reaks.
Maybe some alcohol. It dries quickly and will break up the beer smell. When I was coming back from an extended stay in Europe, I had a computer (broken up into components) and a bottle of homemade hootch that I bought from the farmers market. The bottle shattered in the trip and the computer was covered with Palinka. It turned some of the components pink, but I swear the computer ran faster after that.
