'Straight-up racism': AOC Rips Lack of Business at Chinese Restaurants Over Coronavirus Concerns

People are still saying around 20% will get it worse. However the worldometer site has been gradually reducing the serious/critical and now has it at 10% which is still way above what anyone's health service can cope with if coming in all at once or anywhere near that.

I never knew they had concern. Certainly outside the US the belief is that you have a massive unknown spread and have for some time and in time the numbers in the US is likely to be catastrohphic - worse than Italy I would think and they are needing to let people die.

That is what Governments have to try to achieve. However the way the US has acted it is likely to get the mass need coming at once. It has allowed the spread by not testing and it is believed calling the virus other things.

Wear a N95 mask, wash you hands all the time, drink water every 15 mins (supposed to shove the virus down to your stomach which kills it,) take vit D - just an average daily dose but it does offer some protection and possibly take Quercetin - it is known to get Zinc to work to kill the virus, but amount still being worked out. People are saying Vit C helps as well. If you are in a high risk group isolate yourself as much as possible and get visitors to wear a medical mask!!

While I hate to agree with a flake like AOC, it is kind of dumb to think you're at risk from a Chinese person in America more than you are any other person. But then the types of people who jump to those kinds of conclusions aren't exactly known for brains either.

I have had the flu once in 70 odd years . It was either late 1972 or early 73 .

It was called the London flu and I have never so sick since that time .I think I would die if I were to have that strain today.

London didnt care if it was named after the point of outbreak.

This virus should be called the Chinese Covid19 virus even if china objects .

There are three Chinese restaurants relatively close to me. Of those three, two of them are owned by families who have members who routinely travel to China and return. At one of them, the mother in the family went to China seven times last year.

That restaurant "closed until further notice" three weeks ago...

Which could have easily been in response to lower business due to people being scared that a Chinese food restaurant would somehow be a vector for the virus, simply because it's Chinese food.

It would seem the people who brag about being the highly educated and intellectual elite in this country have a hard time understanding the meaning of simple words. It's either that or they call people racists when they want to attack someone and have no other argument.

AOC is going to have her district eliminated and that's a shame since many, or even most, of the residents who live in it aren't Americans. I mean, the thought of that happening has me in tears because since being elected, she has done soooooo much to improve things in the district she was elected to represent. Probably the biggest thing she ever did to improve the quality of like in her district is not to live there, or that's the rumor.

The left is being led by the nose by a bartender who couldn't amount to anything more than that until democrats/foreigners/illegals got their opportunity to vote.

Certainly not a wet dream. She used to be all flashing eyes and heaving bosoms, but lately she has gotten drawn and haggard. These days I even turn up the sound to see if she has anything interesting to say. But she ain't.

 

If Chinese people who own a Chinese restaurant travel back to China and come back, how is it racist, considering where the virus originated, to not want to visit that Chinese restaurant?

 

In that particular instance I can see it being understandable. If you know the person has been to China, it doesn't really matter if they are Chinese or not.

In my city I live in Chinatown. Most of my neighbors are Oriental. There are all of these businesses run by oriental people.

These businesses are hurting right now because nobody is patronizing them. Most of the people that patronize them or Oriental themselves. So doubt it's racism.

 

Are all Asian people Chinese?
