...“Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-Wen in a video statement at a U.S. think tank event in Washington on Wednesday touted the strength of the U.S.-Taiwan relationship amid a growing threat from China. “As effective our military is, we cannot stand alone without support from the community of like-minded democracies. I am proud that the relationship between Taiwan and the U.S. has never been closer,” Tsai said in her statement at the Hudson Institute. “Across the board, we share a high degree of mutual trust and a common strategic picture of how we can work together to protect and preserve a free and open Indo-Pacific,” she added. Both Taiwan and the U.S. are concerned by growing China’s growing aggressiveness in the Indo-Pacific region. The U.S. opposes what it considers excessive Chinese territorial claims in international waters important for global trade as well as China’s increasing bullying of its neighbors — many of whom are U.S. allies”.... https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/08/12/taiwan-president-us-relationship-chinese-threat/ The democracies of the world must stand as one against the threat of the communist party of China. It is the clear and present danger of our time. Freedom loving people around the world must stand as one against that regime. Today’s China is as bad an evil empire as the old Soviet Union ever was.
Yup. Taiwan is a responsible nation and a very good partner to us. Now the Dirty Rotten Outlaw Slavers of Beijing are another story. IF TRUE, THIS WOULD EXPLAIN WHY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT SHUT DOWN CHINA’S HOUSTON CONSULATE: Related: Chinese Consulate in Houston Intervened in US Political Movement. By the way they treat us like crap, you'd never guess that were their number one trading partner. Trump's right, we need to keep moving our business elsewhere, to trading partners with the customer service skills not to lie, steal rob hack and loose pandemics on us.
lol like Trump care about Taiwan, Taiwan just another chess piece trump want to use to get his deal. Once thats done he have no problem to throw them away.
China has been flexing its muscles in the region - that is true - its influence and economic power have grown and countering this influence requires getting as many allies on our side as we can - as is suggested. This is an area where Trump Policy has been a failure.
Sadly, Taiwan is not ours to save or abandon. Americans are not going to go to war over it and China is only holding back because of world opinion, not military threats. It will eventually come to the forefront and the world needs to be prepared to deal with it. The best response to China is to shun it when it misbehaves and offer a better alternative to those it’s trying to influence. So far, we have been feeding it through our greed and corruption and it has learned to take advantage of us.
