Taking our country back? I dont get it. Please explain

When Obama took office we were shedding 800,000 jobs a month because of Bush's recession. And you want to talk about 130,000 on welfare and food stamps. Get real! And chances are, many of those are a product of the recession. And even if they weren't, that has nothing to do with Obama growing more government. What if those figures were a result of people having children and are unemployed and are taking in these entitlements? Obama isn't responsible for those people having more children they can't support. Not to mention, when it comes to employing these people, I hate to break the news to you, but there are simply more people than there are jobs. And it certainly has nothing to do with Obama trying to grow more government.

And your posts are becoming more diluted each time you get on here. You know, when people start typing things that aren't true, you know what they call them? According to you, Obama said yesterday he wants to grow government because he believes govt. is the solution, not the problem. Can you prove that is a direct quote from the president himself? If you can't, your whole post is nothing more than a fairy tale. And if that ends up being the case, which I know it will, I would suggest doing something with that foot-in-mouth disease, before posting any other words of wisdom.

A. cut taxes for the wealthy again ....sorry, sorry....the "jobs creators".

B. Gut domestic spending and turn Social Security into an IRA run by Charles Schwab and Medicare into a coupon?

The question is, why isn't it? You have unlimited cash and you could buy (or construct) an ABC, CBS, NBC, etc. There can be only one conclusion. Potential buyers don't believe they can sell enough sponsor time with the message you're going with. There is no blackout of rightwing media.

wrong again, it wasn't until LBJ merged the SS funds into the general fund, now SS is part of govt spending just like defence or EPA.

 

No one wants to cut taxes on the evil rich, but I know that is your talking point and you have to repeat it every day.

the Fix would be to cut all govt spending down to revenue---------i.e. balance the budget.

No one has proposed changing SS for anyone on it today or within 10 years of being on it. What has been suggested is giving young workers a CHOICE as to how they fund their retirement------------a choice, what a radical concept!!!!!!!!!

No one has proposed any such thing. No one has proposed doing away with SS and making it an IRA. Where do you get this crap?

What has been proposed is giving young workers the option of investing some of their money into a private account that would give them a better retirement income than SS, but it would also guarantee that they would get the SS amount if their personal investment account did not grow.

I really wish that you libs would stop lying about this.

 

Okay, so the proposal was....you invest your SS money in a "investment account" (which is of course "totally different" from an IRA)....and if it doesn't work out, the Government will STILL pay you THE SAME AMOUNT of what you would have gotten under old Social Security?

Yes, that is what has been proposed by some republicans. All of the economists that have reviewed and the CBO have said that it will work and its very unlikely that the govt guarantee would ever come into play.

what is your issue with giving people a choice? you want choice on pregnancy termination, why not choice on retirement funding?

That's a REALLY nice choice, ragin. You get take out part of your SS tax, to invest, and there is NO risk of a cut in your SS benefits??? Not a penny?

And how exactly does this save the Gov't money? Money from SS is cut....and if there will be NO cut in benefits if you decide to invest in a mushroom farm , they stil have to pay your all the benefits you would have gotten in today's program?
