Now in late January and early February taxpaying Americans are working on income tax returns. The tax code has become such that complete DIY is a fine way to lose money and maybe wind up in court. Used to be you hired a tax preparer. Now TurboTax does it OK for most people.

The nature of what people do is changing. There is no denying that. The major problem is that government seems determined to stand in the way. Government thinks it can control the course of what is going on when it is itself as subject to the onrush of technology as anybody.

Government interference prevents or slows the rise of new activities. and these activities are what people will be doing at least in the short term.
