Teen’s ear piercing gets his dad arrested at their Arkansas home, video shows

    Read more at: https://www.kansascity.com/article274648751.html#storylink=cpy

In the video, four officers with the Tontitown Police Department are seen entering the home through the front door, handcuffing the dad, Jeremy Sherland, and leading him into a police car waiting outside.

For context, The police were told that his dad was drunk, put him in a chokehold and forced the needle in his ear. Apparently, that was a lie. The kid never said it.

    The kid said,
"Nah, I asked for it and so we just took ice and a potato and did it that way,” Zethen said."

Here's the charges: Zethen says he understands his father is facing four charges which, include: endangering the welfare of a minor, refusal to submit to arrest, and obstructing governmental operations, but Zethen says none of those charges reflect the kind of father Jermey is.

Watch the video and see how they manhandled him. For piercing an ear. You understand? He pierced his sons ear without a license.

Unbelievable. Keep it up Republicans. You are helping the democrats, bigly.

How on Earth do you jump from this story to blaming Republicans?

So, someone lied to the cops. The cops reacted based on the information they had? You might want to take that up with the person who lied to the cops...lol

They should have immediately dropped all charges.

We'll, he broke the law. Nobody's above the law. Right?

He broke the law of piercing an ear without a license. This is the **** they worry about? You’re okay with the way the police manhandled him? For piercing an ear? Violent criminal indeed.

That isn't initially why they responded. Again, take that up with the person who lied to the cops.

Something is missing. This is as disingenuous as the black man getting shot over a parking space.

Another example of why the police should not be given qualified immunity. This was most certainly over done in the law. An ear piercing shouldn't have led to this, let alone the police lying about it.

We don't know who lied. I doubt it was the cops.

The police are feeling empowered to treat every arrest as if it were a violent criminal. There are ways to handle this without going full on nuclear.

I just don't understand trying to blame this on Republicans. So they have a state with child endangerment laws. No Democrat states have child endangerment laws?

The law he broke is piercing his son's ear without a license.

Show some local Yoko Police department overreacts and somehow you think that this is the fault of the Republican party?

The law is the problem. That's on the legislators in Arkansas, which is Republican. The local yokels are also to blame for treating the man as a violent criminal.

So do they not have child endangerment laws in democrat-run States as well?

Piercing an ear is not child endangerment. LMAO. I got mine pierced at 13 or 14. Potato & ice, just like this kid.

When did we start believing that our children are special snowflakes who need to be protected from pierced ears. LMAO.

At first they thought they were dealing with a child abuser.

To be fair, it normally is the Republicans that save the children from Democrats, what law was broken piercing an ear?

In all fairness, I can see how people would think that. Their 10 commandment thing in Texas is helping the right earn this reputation.

Well in your post the police were there because of a violence report, I assumed the police went on that, I can't imagine a warrant for an ear piercing.
