Thankfully, my home state--Tennessee--is largely re-opening next Tuesday (just five days from today, as I write this). (More precisely, it will be going into Phase 2 of the re-opening; among other things, restaurants will be permitted to serve customers at 75 percent of normal capacity.)

I like this. Very much, in fact.

You can be sure that EVERYONE is sick of this.

But if people aren't careful, we could get hit by a second wave and it could be worse than the first one. That is what happened with the Spanish Flu. In the mean time, trump is setting the example by refusing to wear a mask. If everyone followed his example we would be in deep sht.

Someone once said that "but" is a word that essentially means, "Forget everything that I have said up to this point; here comes the real scoop."
You may not understand that the mask is not intended to protect the wearer of it--not even a little--but it is intended only to protect those in close proximity to him (or her).

By the way, there is, indeed, a word called "trump"--as in, for instance, to use a trump card in the game of bridge--but there is no such person as a President "trump."

    Perhaps you mean Trump...

You are correct it is president* trump.
    Can’t forget that asterisk

As for the masks, these shutdowns would have likely not even been needed if people would practice some basic hygiene and would wear a mask — that is too much for some to bare however.

People in the majority are being careful. Phasing in the reopening doesn't mean stripping of the protective gear and running naked down the street.

Personally I couldn't care what Trump is saying in regards to wearing a mask. Do you worry about what designer he wears, or what type of deodorant he uses? You should be able to make some common sense judgements for yourself.

Well that is incorrect. But it would be nice if life was nothing but a series of cute little sayings.

Yes I know, The only people I see who are confused on this point are trumpers. Wearing a mask is how you help to prevent infecting other people if you are a carrier. It is a matter of one's patriotic duty to protect other Americans. It is a matter of decency to help protect your neighbors. And trump could be infecting everyone around him. The tests for infection have a high failure rate.

But righties don't see it that way. For trumpers it is all about trumpers and doing whatever the hell they want, and screw everyone else.

Perhaps you would care to elucidate...

It is rather odd, I think, that you speak of "trumpers" (or, alternatively, "Trumpsters"), as though all of us who voted for Donald Trump in 2016--and will almost certainly do so again in 2020--may reasonably be placed in a box, which (apparently) allows for no variations.

In other words, as if we are...well, as if we are mind-numbed.

Is that seriously what you believe?

And if so, would you wish to offer some evidence, please?

Moreover, you appear to be furious with those of us with whom you disagree--why, we (ostensibly) wish to do "whatever the hell [we] want," while "screw[ing] everyone else."

That does not exactly meet the definition if disagreeing without being disagreeable...
