First, I applaud him for his ballsy Napoleonistic approach (He dealt with plague haphazardly as well for moral). I hope he does not end up with egg on his face like some of the other politicians who are taking this stand and ending up infected with Corona virus.

Second, as far as Texas goes, as a Texan, no matter the virus's effect, we also have the oil matter on our hands that could have more of an economic impact than the virus does. When the rigs shut down, so do some cities who depend on them for survival, and the rigs are shutting down. Less money flowing in all aspects as the price has dropped from the 40's to the 20's, it another matter we will have to deal with in TODAYS economy.

I admire the balls and sentiment, but I'd also like to do whatever we can to hopefully save the at risk people I know. There's millions out there who won't survive, partly because there simply won't be any way to save them.

Shut it down. Stay home. Pass this damn stimulus bill without the things Democrats want which have nothing to do with this pandemic (can't even believe what the Dems are trying to pull here).

Once we have the tools we need to fight this virus without swamping the medical infrastructure, and we see new infections starting to dwindle, THEN we can slowly get things back to normal.

It’s a balance. Lose 500,000 people and go through something worse than the Great Depression for 15 years. Or lose 1,000,000 with limited economic disruption.

The numbers may not be exact, but I’m sure you get my point.
