Well at midnight tonight the price of petrol in SA goes up by 71c a liter. 71c is a massive increase in a country where the average income is not very high.

Now there are various reasons for this increase, including a new roads tax, but one rather large reason is the fact that we were forced to stop importing oil from Iran. See a large percentage of our oil came from Iran. Many of our refineries are calibrated for oil from Iran (apparently oil from different parts need different types of refining). The long term contract with Iran at a very reasonable price had to be cancelled. This means that some of our refineries are now offline as they have to be re-calibrated at great cost. This is leading to shortage. Combined with that we now had to source our oil from somewhere else at greater cost, it is all contributing to the massive price hike.

So why do I say forced to stop buying from Iran? The SA government informed the USA that, due to our economic challenges, we need to continue importing oil from Iran. The USA flatly responded that we will be sanctioned if we continue. We had no choice but to agree.

    Now a few questions:
    1. This is not our fight, why are we being forced, at great costs to ourselves, to comply? We do not have the luxury of invading some country for it's oil. So we will be suffering due to your choices.
    2. I have no love for the Iranian regime at all. But why is there no consistency? Please Mr. Obama, answer me this: Where are the sanctions against Israel? They have illegal nuclear weapons. They do not comply with UN inspections. I must insist that the USA put full sanctions in place against Israel with immediate effect. I mean, it is all for world peace and all that, is it not? And while you are at it, can we expect to see full sanctions against Pakistan and India too?
    3. As a country that has been through sanctions, they are not as successful as the USA seem to think they are.

So tonight, when the price goes up, and when the price of food, and everything else goes up next week due to increased transport costs, I will remember that it is, in part, due to the USA not allowing us to make choices that is best for us.

    AH

    This is good news.

Dispite all the so called BS propaganda media crap. The real reason price of fuel in the USA is going up is:

    1) the USA consumes over 10% less petro each month, and that is major money that puts oil companies in the red. AKA drives up debt.

    2) the rest of the world is using more petro, particularly China. On a large scae, the USA is selling a lot of oil at higher prices to those countries because they can afford to pay for it.

    3) the value of USD (US dollar for those less intelligent), has plummeted in the years 2001 to 2004 to an all time low against all forigen currency among the top 30 economic nations.

    4) while the more economic affluent countries best out $8 to $9 per US Gallon, the USA pays half of that.

Be thankfull you live in the USA.

    5) Oil and petro companies in the USA are in the monopoly bidness, they make their profit by growth, and with a decline in petro use, that destroys their bottom line, and to stay competitive with the rest of the world the US oil companies must raise their price in conjunction with the decline of oil consumption.

    6) Shareholders and execs of the oil industry will not in any way take a pay cut or devalue their stock option value.

So, if America is using 10+% LESS oil each month, how else do you think the oil execs can balance their budget?
Please, only the people smart enough not to have debt on their books answer?

No stupid answers like it is because of Iran or the president Bama has caused the price to go up. Think and think again. If you have no ability to think, just follow the propaganda the media tells you, that is what the masses do. And you too can be part of the dumb crowd.

2012 means we are going very deep down (depressed situation), even completely as happened in 1929 (unsure if they really are going to repeat that) (if that happened it will happen before elections 6 nov), and 2013 means we are going up again (happy siituation) There is only one reason why this (two strong periods, bad and good) is happening, they need your votes, your power. The big reason is empire, an elite ruling over the masses.
