With and without your allowness he will do so.

I never would call my own mother "servant". I don't think your analogy "prophet" = "servant of god" = "mother of god" is a good analogy. Sometimes the light things are not so easy to see - not even if they are in the middle of the own eyes. And in everything sleeps also always a deep secret - until the flower of inspiration starts to burn between the sand corns of our thoughts and feelings and to grows high in still unknown dimensions.

Thank you for clarifying it is a RC belief. Not shown to be true in the bible, but a belief by a religion.
I have no problem with that, I was just trying to get clarification where it came from.

The bible is only one product of our religion. The people in the thirty years war tried also to get clarification about the differences between Catholics and Protestants. One result of this european war on german soil was the unbelievable cruel death of 1/2 or even 2/3 of all Germans. You will find no word about this war in the bible.

Well most RC dogma came from the pope.

The pope decided that Mary Magdeline was a whore.
The pope decided it was a sin to eat meat on friday.
The pope decided that unbabtised babies went to hell (or at least the first level of hell, Purgatory)

The pope has this authority because of another part of catholic dogma, which ironically, is not found in the bible as well, the idea that the pope in infallible in the eyes of god while sitting in the chair of Saint Peter. It comes from the blessing that Christ gave to Peter what whatever he held to be true on earth would be held true in heaven. According to catholic dogma, this blessing caries on to the pope whiling sitting in the chair, but it is not mentioned in the bible, or anywhere outside of catholic dogma.

Good joke - what's the name of this pope if he exists?

As far as I know it was a rule for strong fundamental Catholics to eat nothing on Friday. It has not specially to do something with meat. In our older regional traditions only Thursday and Sunday the people were eating meat. I guess you are speaking about the rule that fluids and everything what lives in water is an exception from this rule.

Never heard this before I came in this forum - but Catholics will always babtise a bab(tis)y of a christian mother in case of emergency. If a priest is not available every Catholic is able to baptize someone. The formula is easy "I baptize you in the name of the father, the son and the holy ghost".

Indeed it is true that most Catholics - me too - prefer purgatory instead of hell. There's a deeper reason for this: We are living in a world where everything has limits, everything ends. So the most Catholics are not able to imagine a crime with endless effects. I calculated for example once in case of Hitler 20 billion years purgatory - perhaps 50 billion years would be more realistic and I was a little too generous - but not endless. Endless is too long. In this case I would even try to free Hitler from hell - although he's one of the worst enemies of my families. All this "hell"-sense is really a problem. How is someone able to be happy if someone else is in hell? To know something about would make everyone unhappy - and not to know something about would make someone to an ignorant. It's really not easy to think about hell and purgatory. But on the other side: Why to do? I'm sure god will make everything in the best of all possible ways after death. We have only to take care not to lose the way to heaven.

Would not make a big sense if he would ran in a soccer game with a police whistle instead speaking "ex cathedra". Who has the last decision in the USA? The president, isn't it? He's decision is somehow "infallible" - uncorrectable - in case of nuclear war. The facts are deciding this in this case. Someone has to decide in unknowable situations.

The word is "bind" not "true". What he's binding on Earth is also bound in heaven - whatever this means. No one is able to make something true or untrue if it is not true and/or not untrue.

The Catholic Church does believe the Bible to be error free and the word of God. Whoever told you otherwise is lying to you. The Catholic Church does not however take all the Bible as literal, we do not believe the world is only 6000 years old for example. We also believe that the Bible is not sole authority, it runs in conjunction with tradition, and the Church, none has more authority over the other none contradict each other it is how we establish what is truth and what is not.

Please tell me some error the Catholic Church has taught in it's over 2000 year old history?, so I can at least defend my faith.

So even from your own post you are admitting that all other churches were born out of the Catholic Church. I thank you for this admission as most Protestants do not even accept this fact.
So if the Catholic Church is the original Church how did it stray when Jesus promised to be with it always?, the Church he established that is. Which you have already stated is the origianal Church all other forms of Christianity was born out of.

How about the selling of dispensations? They even realized their tradition was misguided and gave up the practice...eventually. First they fleeced the flock for a few centuries, of course.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not a Catholic hater. I just don't find them any more or less authentic than any other Christian.

It was Pope Gregery the Great that named Mary Magdalene as a whore. The bible never names her one. There are two women in the bible, one is being stoned as a whore and Jesus stops it's (It's the point where he says that only people who have never sinned should judge the sins of others), and another who comes to Jesus and anoints his feet with her tears, and is identified as a "sinner". There is nothing in the bible that says they are the same person, and only the second woman is known to be Mary Magdalene. Gregery the Great declared that they were the same person and that Mary Magdelene was a repentant whore. Scholars differ on why he did this. Some say he did it to add a deeper aspect to Mary, in that she could have such as high place in Jesus' council, after being a whore, and it proves that no one is unworthy of redemption, and others think he did it because of the fear that a woman with Mary's status could endanger the male oriented authority of the church, so he named her a whore to dirty her name.

The word is different in different translations. The bibles I read say clearly what Peter holds true on earth will be held true in heaven.

Oh and Purgatory is part of hell. It is merely the first layer and no torture is done there.

Oh and the reason the unbabtised babies going to purgatory thing is bull(*)(*)(*)(*) is because god controls death, according to the church. So, if a baby dies in the hospital right after it's born and is unable to get babtised, it's because god wants it to happen. So god then punishes the child for the god's own decision to kill it.

My information is: Gregor I. thought about that Mary of Magdala could be the same woman who had washed the feet of Jesus. She was called "sinner". I'm not sure wether someone found out in the last 1421 years wether he was right or not. It was by the way completly normal that a sinner washed the feet of our redeemer while the [self-]righteous crucified him.

I know - I was always astonished about the very strange and confused opinions of lots of people in case of Mary of Magdala.

Please: An adulteress is not a whore. The word "whore" comes by the way from the word "[innocent] virgin". I assume it has to do with the crusades that this word came in our both languages. I guess some poeple had offered the crusaders "virgins"="huri".

Exactly here thinks Gregor it is Mary of Magdala. To be honest: Most Catholics remember 4-5 names - perhaps 10 names - of popes. But I'm much more better: I remember for example the names of XXIII Johns + some more Johns.

If he called Mary of Magdala a whore then maybe he had some problems with women. If not - then he got some problems with women, isn't it?

What a luck that I don't have your problems. If a Pope speaks nonsense and I'm not able to ask him why he's speaking nonsense then I'm just simple ignoring the nonsense he spoke.

If you think so - if not it's also okay

I would not believe this if I would be you. And by the way: The title of Mary from Magdala is "Apostola apostolorum". Perhaps Gregor I was angry about this title?

I've seen to posts to this already and some verses about it.
But I'll start with just 1, the immaculate conception.
BTW - Strict Lutheran synods believe the bible 100% literal word of God and the earth is 6000 yrs old, there about.

Of course. Catholic is universal. All christianity orginiated from 1 beginning. All, well most, protestants formed from the catholics. I think. I don't know much outside the Lutheran religion.
The RC strayed and IMO is no longer the Catholic church Peter? founded or began. It is why the reformation took place and ML posted his 95 thesis.

Where are you coming from? Why would something that happened in the 15th century be in the bible? The bible was compiled in the 3rd century? And to my knowledge, no books have been added.
BTW - I had to google the 30yr war. I'm not a student of religion.

From nowhere. I was always here.

Excactly. The logic is: What was in the 17th (1618-1648 AD) century was also a result of the bible. What is today is also a result of the bible and of the 17th century. Causes are in the past - effects are in the future. The USA is a result of the thirty years war as well as of other causes. Most Mennonits and Amish people for example are living not any longer in Europe. Calvinism is very importnat in the USA and so on and so on ...

Hmm ... history is important. You don't know who you are if you don't know what are the influences you are living in.

If Dagdag's premise is correct then the Democrat party, the United Nations, most schools, and all unions are criminal organizations.

The first "protestants" were actually HERETICS who criticized the CATHOLIC CHURCH for CORRUPTION, and deviating away from the PATH OF GOD. As a result, my ancestors were burned alive, throughout european history. Because TRUTH IS GREATER than men. Men are fallible, we are creatures of SIN. And to PURIFY ourselves from SIN, SEEK TRUTH, we are unafraid to confront CORRUPTION brought about by SIN IN MAN.

However, even the protestant institutions are open to corruption, as we have seen in these previous 200 years. The protestants have become corrupt, as have the catholics. Many "CHRISTIANS" are false, and have turned their backs on GOD, their fronts toward SATAN, and commit SIN without end. There is NO RETRIBUTION here. But GOD SEES ALL!!! And He goes beyond us all.

The problem is much more complex. Constantinople (the Orient) felt and Rome (the Occident) was not able to cover this loss.

I would be astonsihed if this would be true. Who were your ancestors?

What a nonsense - god created the world - god is also your creator. Sin is more a kind of destructive element or sin is maybe just simple a solveable problem. No one has to go to hell because he's a sinner.

    :)

I'm a german Catholic with jewish roots - and I never had only a little a feeling in my life that I'm corrupt.

Good grieve - ¿what about this idea? : If god is not looking at something then it dissappears completly out of this world. I think what god is not watching never had existed - it is not existing now - and it will never exist. We are not even able to think about what this could had been what god did not watch or is not watching or will watch one day.

People within the Church were corrupt and once again I say no one is denying that. The teachings of the Church are not corrupt, and instead of leaving the one true Church Protestants should have reformed it from within as many of the great saints did. Instead of going of and creating man made institutions and not staying with the Church Jesus Himself established.

Why do you believe the Immaculate Conception to be an error?.
Are you sure you are not meaning the Assumption of Mary?. Most Christians the very vast majority of them believe in the immaculate conception. If you do not accept this teaching then who do you think Mary had intimate relations with in order for Jesus to be born?, Joeseph?.

So the Church Jesus promised to be with to the end of ages went wrong is that what you are saying?.
You are right all Protestantism came out of Catholicism.
Tell me why did Martin Luther reject 7 books from the Bible?, under what authority did he remove 7 books?.
What was his reasons?, why did he reject the epistle of James?.
Tell me can anyone tamper with the Bible and take the books they like out of it,and reject the rest?.
Martin Luther decided to form his own man made religion according to his own authority. He accepted the teachings of the Church until it did not agree with his interpretations of the Bible, then he went of in a sulk and created his own religion, claiming all in anyone needed was just the Bible.
There was no such thing as Sola Scriptura until Martin Luther introduced this notuion in the 1500s.

By the way: Sex - or how you say "intimate relation" - is not a sin.

Under what authority were those 7 books included. For that matter, what authority is there for any of the cannonized books. Constantine? A pagen at the time?

Maybe if the immaculate conception can be explained as you believe it I may change my mind. But from what I understand it to be, is she was born without sin and lived without sin, just like Jesus. Never heard of it and the scriptures shown on this forum have shown me know clue that is true.
