*Technically this applies to everyone who falls under the jurisdiction of the Laws of the Land irrespective of their citizenship or not.

I admit to having my own political bias but as a citizen who is eligible for jury duty my first obligation is to uphold the rights of others irrespective of whether or not I agree with their political positions.

As a juror I must set aside my own bias and look only at the evidence provided in the court where the trial is held. I have a duty to critically examine what the prosecutor presents in the case and ensure that it leaves no reasonable doubt in my mind as to what transpired. If the prosecution fails to eliminate those doubts I must acquit because the burden of proof has not been met.

If I failed to acquit under those circumstances I would have denied my fellow citizens their right to the presumption of innocence.

So if I were to end up on a jury for either Hunter Biden or former occupant of the Oval office I must apply the exact same standard to the evidence as presented. If the prosecution can prove their case and the defense cannot introduce any reasonable doubt about the facts of the case then my duty becomes one of upholding the Law of the Land and voting guilty on the charges.

In essence We the People have to understand that regardless of our political biases they play no role when we are jurors. Only the evidence and the law can be factors when deciding upon guilt otherwise the person indicted ALWAYS deserves the Presumption of Innocence regardless as to who they might be.

Do not forget your Right, and even obligation, to Jury Nullification. Just as happened in the North with some juries when slaves tried to escape slavery you can consider a law unjust, or a law being applied unjustly. Jury Nullification was also instrumental in getting the 18th Amendment repealed via the 21st Amendment because people would use Jury Nullification to keep the liquor flowing. It's even used today to prevent people being charged with marijuana possession from being sentenced. As jurors, we have a "right to judge the law as well as the fact in controversy" ~ Samuel Chase, Supreme Court Justice & signer of the Declaration of Independence.

That is a very mature and responsible way to approach jury duty. I applaud you.
