https://edition.cnn.com/2022/09/15/politics/john-durham-russia-probe-donald-trump/index.html We were promised - by many people on this board - that Durham’s investigation would lead to bombshells. To indictments up to the highest level, including Hillary Clinton. Even Obama. But it isn’t going to end with any kind of bang. More like a whimper. That won’t prevent the MAGA crew from repeating the lies about criminal activity from Democrats. But their lies will ring more hollow than ever.
We know what the government's official position is "mistakes were made" and people agree. Ironically, these mistakes include willing deception of an intelligence surveillance court that can't be countered by a defense, nor is the person being surveilled have any knowledge of all this, but hey it's been 'proven' to be fine and dandy. My response to "mistakes were made" is that I expect such "mistakes" to continue indefinitely, at least until we get rid of the FISA court as a failed means of 'reform'. If we truly want intelligence to be removed from political hands, then it must be removed entirely. If we can't criminalize wrongful behavior, we can at least prevent it in the future.
There sure is a lot of discussion of the "failure" of the Durham investigation today. Kind of makes me wonder what's going to be coming out.
Making the Durham probe the same as every other lie T**** told... Promise the World, but deliver Death Valley....
Just like with all the investigations into Trump - nothing, but don't worry, as the pendulum swings back and forth in DC, both parties will continue with investigation after investigation to further their political agendas
That's a fascinating statement, coming from a right winger. Does that also apply to the Orange Stain ?
That sums up trump’s appeal to his supporters. He captures their attention with a ridiculous but appealing lie. That lie drives the news cycle but the news cycle is short and moves on. Still, they remember and believe the lie. By the time the lie is proved false, the story itself is old news and anyway it isn’t as interesting or appealing as the original lie. So for his supporters, the original lie has become part of the fabric of their “reality”.
The Durham probe was not an investigation of Trump. It was a bogus investigation prompted by Trump playing the victim card, like he often does. They found nothing, but as the OP stated, many Trump supporters on this forum made very loud, angry promises that people like Hillary and Obama were "going to pay" for going after their hero.
Even Death Valley has some prohibitive value, it is more like two wooden nickels that have been mailed to you from Timbuktu.
Let's not forget that there is one positive about holding investigations, even if no charges are filed. It serves to remind those in our government that might consider doing something against the rules that they may be scrutinized, so it hopefully keeps such behavior to a minimum.
Yeah, I used to think that too.... Investigations don't mean **** if it isn't followed by actual punishment when illegalities are found.....
Righties in shambles right now. Will righties claim Clinton is the most vindicated person on earth after Benghazi and now this lol!!!
I'm not in shambles, we were informed as early as 2019 that the government believed that its tactics, no matter how unethical were okay because they were 'mistakes'. And so, the collective has agreed. No malicious intent here, you were unwittingly incompetent. Never mind that you had several meetings with the source, internal doubts about the source and confirmed misinformation but still used it anyway! Other than that, yeah they were totally helpless little guppies. So since this has been established as the 'truth', here's a question: Why fund the agencies at all at this point? They failed 9/11, they failed the Boston Marathon and they even failed the Florida shooter. And they failed Russiegate. What have they gotten right on major breaches of our national security? We're better off with sheriffs and our local LEO's.
Durham's almost complete failure vindicates the Obama 2016 DOJ and FBI (not really Hillary).. Dare I say even James Comey comes out looking not as bad as normal.... Not to mention all of the winger boogeymen and boogeywomen from that timeframe.. Pete Strzok - Vindicated Lisa Page - Vindicated Andy McCabe - Vindicated (double vindicated once he won his lawsuit for his firing) Bruce Ohr - Vindicated John Brennan - Vindicated Stefan Halper - Vindicated Sally Yates - Vindicated Bill Priestap - Vindicated I could go on... and on.... and on...
Bit it really doesn’t matter. Hillary was caught red handed destroying evidence and NOTHING was done. All she did was repeat “I didn’t recall..” over and over again. It’s amazing how devices can be destroyed and hard drives and data deleted, emails passed back and forth, but no one “intended” to destroy evidence? You didn’t intend to shoot someone when you pulled the trigger? Same BS. Also amazing how many politicians are able to miraculously trade stocks at just the right time over and over again, when they’re the ones making policy that control those stocks, and NO ONE is charged with insider trading
FAKE NEWS THE ROT AT THE FBI GOES MUCH DEEPER THAN STRZOK: Peter Strzok Destroyed in Draft FBI Letter Firing Him. “In short, your repeated selfishness has called into question the credibility of the entire FBI.” VILE SEMI-NAZI SCUM 'Strzok’s infamous anti-Trump text messages with FBI lawyer Lisa 'Happy Horndog' Page that promise that the FBI would stop Trump from getting elected proved to be a stunning blow to the perceived impartiality of the nation’s top law enforcement agency.' It revealed their claimed impartiality to be a total farce. THEIR ILLEGAL SPYING OPERATION WAS AN 'INSURANCE POLICY' IN THE UNLIKELY EVENT THAT TRUMP WAS ELECTED 'The most noteworthy of Strzok’s texts was on Aug. 15, 2016: “I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in Andy’s office that there’s no way he [Trump] gets elected — but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk. It’s like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you’re 40…” His text to his illicit lover, FBI's Lisa "Happy Horndog' Page. “It is difficult to fathom the repeated, sustained errors of judgment you made while serving as the lead agent in two of the most high profile investigations in the country,” Bowdich wrote. “Your sustained pattern of bad judgment in the use of an FBI device has called into question for many of the decisions made during both the Clinton e-mail investigation and the initial states of the Russian Collusion investigation.” “In my 23 years in the FBI, I have not seen a more impactful series of missteps which called into question the entire organization and more thoroughly damaged the reputation of the organization. In our role as FBI employees we sometimes make unpopular decisions, but the public should be able to examine our work and not have to question motives.” We now understand your motives, you are the Gestapo that works in the service of the DNC.
The judge is starting to make rulings in the Danchenko case, and it doesn't seem like they're generally going Durham's way (bombshell!!!) SNIP In a ruling issued Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Anthony Trenga agreed with the defense. Specifically, he said the testimony that the government planned to introduce wouldn't actually prove Danchenko lied. “(G)given the low probative value of these allegations, they are not admissible ... as they are substantially outweighed by the danger of confusion and unfair prejudice,” Trenga wrote. Also in Tuesday's ruling, Trenga denied — at least for now — a request from the government that Danchenko be barred from arguing to jurors or presenting evidence that the prosecution is politically motivated. ENDSNIP https://www.yahoo.com/news/judge-rules-naughty-bits-off-221147768.html Isn't that sort of the point of prosecution evidence in a perjury trial?? Strong Case coming here!! Sussmann 2.0
