I'm not completely thrilled with the direction of the culture either. I'm not sure trying to 'outbreed' liberals is the answer.or is even possible. Raising a child is expensive: .
Really? This is what we waste our time on? Did anyone see the latest border invasion numbers? Want to talk about radical changes to our demographics? You sure?
I'm not sure that's a good plan. Strong chance most of them will be democrats until 30ish or so. Maybe 40ish (thats the new age of people having enough money to move out on their own under Bidenomics) IMO - STUPID PLAN!
I agree. It's ALWAYS a stupid plan to try to increase your voter base by increasing the number of the population that will support you. This is why conspiracy theories promoted by the right by which Democrats expect to increase the number of votes by giving illegals a path to citizenship, or by forgiving tuition loans. Once people receive their benefit, they have no incentive to vote for a candidate who gives the same to anybody else. Having said that, though, the GOP HAS been known for attempting the dumbest plans. So... who knows....
Because repeating what Democrats said yesterday is always todays conspiracy theory according to Democrats who suddenly realize it isn't yet time to publically air their dirty laundry.
sadly not all employers treat their employees good, some believe corporations should squeeze employees and customers as much as they can, that just being profitable is not enough, they need to be more and more profitable, no matter what it takes
A TFR (Total Fertility Rate) of 2.1 is what maintains a country's population with each generation. Above 2.1, the population grows, below it the population shrinks. The US's current TFR is ~1.7, +/- 0.05 depending on source below. Most every first world country's TFR has been below 2.1 for decades. The purpose of last year's and this year's Natal Conference is to find ways to reverse the TFR trend. As it states on their main page: "Natal Conference has no political or ideological goal other than a world in which our children can have grandchildren. If you are concerned about collapsing fertility, the economic challenges of having children, the increasing difficulty of dating for men and women, we want to hear from you." https://www.natalism.org @Space_Time, I agree with you about culture and the cost of raising kids but the article's just a spin job. A BioEdge report last year: Two opposing conferences on population this weekend: one proudly pro-natalist, one dismally pro-extinction November 30, 2023 https://bioedge.org/public_health/p...dly-pro-natalist-one-dismally-pro-extinction/ Sources: World Bank https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/SP.DYN.TFRT.IN?view=map UN - can select past/future years for any country https://data.un.org/Data.aspx?d=PopDiv&f=variableID:54 CIA https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/field/total-fertility-rate/country-comparison/ World Population Review https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/total-fertility-rate Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sovereign_states_and_dependencies_by_total_fertility_rate
I'm not particularly fond of the idea of having more kids just to win more elections... but we do need more people to support and eventually replace our aging demographics. Our economy depends on it actually. And it would be nice if the people supporting and eventually replacing us share our ideals... to that end, I support the success of this movement, if not its direct intent. Migrant replacement is happening ...but its just as much the fault of people not having kids as it is the migrants who want an easier life.
