People should stand up more to aggressive governments, as well as greedy corporations (well, more like greedy management/CEOs), intelligently and (hopefully) non-violently. If everyone did that, we wouldn't have the economic crisis that we have today.

Convenient rationale from the left who are only united by their greed for the wealth of others and class envy...

You don't have any problems with corporate meddlings with government to make it hard on everyone else? Is it only "leftists" that dislike this effect?

    You are very correct, DeathStar.

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. ... God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion; what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms." -- Thomas Jefferson to William Stephens Smith, 1787

It has become very obvious Obama does not believe in our U.S. Constitution.

He has even said so in earlier interviews.

A voter is a citizen that meets certain basic requirements (age, not incarcerated, etc), and being citizen is outlined in the constitution... follow along if you're going wait a day or so between questioning posts. Earlier you seemed to suggest that those VOTERS that voted Obama, weren't citizens, which means either you think MASSIVE voter fraud happened, or you don't like the constitutions opinion on citizenship. Either way very UN-American of you.

I do not see anything about greed in that quote??? In fact the bolded bit seems to reflect the opposite.

I didn't say they were not citizens, just not Americans, as in folk who reflect American values and traditions.

I think most "republicans" are not in the position to criticize anyone for being in support of greediness.

More in the US seek unemployment benefits after Obama spends billions
on stimulus. Obviously jobs are not coming back and in fact they are disappearing. It's gonna get worse as Obama passes more anti-business policy, which he always does

In any case there is no recovery, just an Obama lie as we exposed long ago in this thread. Unfortunately the liberal media is still trying to support the same old lie.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The number of Americans seeking unemployment benefits ticked up slightly last week after two months of steady declines.

    http://finance.yahoo.com/news/slightly-more-us-seek-unemployment-134047620.html

'Ticked up' is a liberal way of stating that a high unemployment rate just got worse.

    values obviously change over time.

I think it would be fair to say that a lot of neocons don't truly reflect the values that made america great.

does that mean they are also "not american?"

Conservatives that believe that each of us is responsible for our own fate and that hard work is the way to succeed are, "not American." While liberals that advocate irresponsibility and taking from those who have earned what they have ARE American?

And you wonder why you're known as Loony Liberals.

    Conservatives = the productive.
liberals = the clueless and the parasites.

With very minimal exceptions (babies of diplomats that have other citizenship on birth) EVERYONE BORN IN or otherwise becomes an American citizen, are American citizens. How is this even an issue is beyond me.

do you have evidence to support your claim that liberals are parasites, or that conservatives are inevitably productive?

I would be interested in seeing this.

my own experience is that political orientation doesn't affect attitudes to work, but personal factors do.

Over the years I have had staff who express political opinions when an issue comes up (as we all do), so you get an idea where people stand, but in general - that really doesn't seem to determine levels of motivation.

the laziest person I ever employed DID happen to have conservative views - but if his political views contributed at all, it was possibly because he believed that he was better than other people, and should have instantly been given a promotion, but I doubt it. I think he was just a lazy sod.

I have also had a pretty lazy "liberally" inclined staff member. Again - I don't think his laziness was related to his political views, unless his rather too casual attitude was based in his politics - but again, it doesn't seem to universally apply, so I suspect that agian ... he was a lazy sod.

neither of these is still with us. Their attitudes to work, and ability to do the job didn't match with what I expect from an employee. Politics doesn't come into it.

oh ... and in case you think I am being sexist, I have let a couple of female staff members go too when they seemed not to understand that you go to work to ... work.
