The Gun Industry Should Send The Parkland Three A Gift Basket For Record Gun Sales in March

The anti-gunners are using a few spectacular tragedies as a springboard to ban guns, specifically "military-style" rifles while ignoring that most "gun deaths" are suicides and most "mass shootings" are with handguns.

Less than two weeks ago there was a spectacular plane crash in Arizona killing six people. It was in the news for a couple days. While those six deaths were a tragedy, what is completely ignored by the news is that over 90 Americans die each day in car crashes. Over 4 of them will be children under 15. Over 6,400 will be injured or disabled. Why aren't these daily deaths mentioned but a minor plane crash is on the news for two days? Because one is spectacular and the others are not. Just because it's spectacular is not a reason to fear small airplanes much less ban them, but that is exactly what some people want to do.

After John-John dove into the ocean off Martha's Vineyard with his wife and her sister there was a movement by LWers to ban, among other things, night flying without a special license.

It's idiotic really. Money says skateboards cause more injury than accidental gun discharges i the same age groups. However, it doesn't fit into the liberal agenda.

 

Incorrect. The AR-15, and all other similar semi-automatic rifles, are used in an insignificant number of mass shootings in the united states.

Or remember the years kids were suffocating themselves by climbing into locking refrigerators both discarded and in homes, and the push to end manufacture of refrigerators with locking handles, common enough in homes when I was young, 8 or 9....

Although the link doesn't differentiate between "assault weapons" and other rifles, even if all the "rifle" deaths were "assault weapons", they are on par with shotgun murders and outnumbered 20 to 1 by handgun murders.

Am I the only one who thinks the anti-gun Left is seeking to ban "assault weapons" only as a first step to banning handguns since handguns are involved in about 6000 murders per year, but rifles only about 300 per year?

 

...And the way gun haters try to dismiss ANYTHING that goes against their preferred narrative as "imaginary person anecdotes" just shows how dishonest they know their own agenda is.

The semiauto AR-15 was first sold to civilians in 1964. It wasn't used by a civilian in a mass shooting until 2012, almost 50 years later.

 

I have believed that since I was 10 years old sitting in the local barbershop reading old back issues of the American Rifleman and assorted hunting magazines and a regular customer an older man in his 50s would sit next to me and chortle and snicker and make rude comments at me, and I was only 10 !
I would simply ignore him and his taunting calling Me Prince lil dick... and other nasty stuff.

One day the Barber Sal got fed up and got in his face and told him stop "Molesting" that little boy, or just don't come back, he is a paying customer just like you !

A few customers agreed with Sal and the Guy turned beet red and ran out, he never bothered me again, lol, it was too funny for words the look he had on his face then.

We have a particular class of humans in America who should never own guns. I don't mean machine guns, even pellet guns.
