Germans have a hard currency, but not many people learn German
French is taught more, but the Euro is a currency from Germany
all languages are equal, but English is more equal

Germans have a "hard currency"? I thought Germany uses the euro -- which is fiat currency run by the European Central Bank.

Here's a link, with my emphasis in red:

"Fiat currency is legal tender whose value is backed by the government that issued it. The U.S. dollar is fiat money, as are the euro and many other major world currencies. A fiat currency's value is underpinned by the strength of the government that issues it, not its worth in gold or silver."

Afterthought: there were very good reasons why the British (zum beispiel) never agreed to give up their British Pound Sterling in favor of an easily-manipulated, overvalued fiat currency like the "euro".... And, the Germans I know wish they had their Deutsche Mark back!

Es spielt keine rolle (doesn't matter)... Germans are stuck (STUCK) with the euro now, just like they're also stuck with the dead-end European countries that share the euro with them. They all had better hope for better days ahead -- soon -- or the day will come when the ECB is no longer able to 'print' its way out of the hole it dug for itself. Then, it's "Die Kacke ist am Dampfen"....:icon_shithitsthefan:cynic:

You can always trade any currency for something 'solid', like gold or silver.
