That might explain antibody testing now yes, but we will need that going forward. More importantly that information is still important. Nor does that explain diagnostic testing. We need to test for if people have the disease or not.

You're right, but we've had months now when the government could have been working to ramp up production of tests, infrastructure to do the testing, and formulating a comprehensive plan. But they haven't done that.

We don't do this kind of testing for any other virus because no other virus is this same level of contagious, deadly, and new (i.e. doesn't yet have a vaccine). If measles or tuberculosis were just now emerging, we'd need to be doing the same thing with regard to them.

There are no actual flaws other your perceived flaws is that they go against your narrative.

Oh I believe them because they are true, unlike the false self centered information you have already posted, which I cannot believe you actually posted.

Actually it is being discovered this virus is not as some we have been hit by before and the death rate is also thankfully much lower than predicted.

The problem is if this country doesn't get back to work the damage from recession such will cause is going to result in many more people dying from causes other than the virus and it run for a much longer term of years, not just months.

Lets hope that doesn't happen with a rushed to market vaccine, it would be a disaster that could be very deadly and worst yet the problems might not show up quickly and to make it worse a lot of the companies working on them want to be granted immunity from liability, allowing to dump a defective product on the market without a risk of having to pay people it injured or killed.

Testing more peole sooner would have given us an earlier understanding that the virus is less lethal than we thought. Regardless, it's still more contagious and deadly than anything else we've faced since measles was almost eradicated. No other virus has killed so many people in such a short amount of time in the last 100 years.

I agree we need to get back to work. Testing helps us do that by giving us a fuller picture of who's infected, where people are most at risk, and how the virus is moving throughout the country.

According to your logic, we should stop collecting unemployment data and other economic metrics, because knowing these numbers won't actually change the course of the economy. Less information is more, right? Why only apply it to the virus?

14 million tests would be a dent in the population.

Because most of those numbers are created by applicants seeking services and are required to provide those services, and they cost nothing compared to COVID-19 testing.

It makes much more sense to only test those at risk and push the remaining money into developing a vaccine or anti-viral shot.

Looks like Trump is getting tested every day. Does he get tested because testing is a myth? What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

He interacts with many more people per day than most people do and a number of people around him have tested positive, so yes he is going to be tested more often.

But for the average person testing does nothing of any usefulness.
