YES before The Great Society broke up the black family poverty was falling blacks were becoming sccessful in spite of the segregationist Democrat Jim Crow laws. Marriage rates were high and families secure...then once the Dems lost he civil rights battles they broke up huge porportions of black communities to put black mothers on government dependence. Poverty is not solved by government transfer payments which only breeds more poverty. That is true for ALL races. It is the porportional impact on black communities.

You engage in several fallacies by first talking ratios then conflating raw numbers. By almost all measures for serious, violent, lethal, and repetitive crime blacks by far engage in more disproportionately and that drives the majority black communities into decay, lack of jobs, lack of a tax base to support government services, and SAFETY. Yes there are white criminals too and yes there are Asian criminals. But those majority communities have little povery, little crime, more jobs and higher standards living because the numbers if people engaged in crime is PORPORTIONATELY LOW.

Yes blacks like any other race can be and ARE succssful in this country. Asians are the MOST successful. And thatnis based in the porportion of both who

Take full advantage of the free education offered to them.
Do not have children at a young age or out of wedlock.
Do not engage in crime or other corrupt behavior
Get a job right out of school and be a stable loyal employee working for the success of the employer.
Do not abuse drugs and alcohol.

Do that and the chance you will ever be in poverty are infinitesimal.

What happened 200 years ago has nothing to do with anything. This idea that all whites have wealth accumulated by their ancestors from 4 generations ago is utter folly. Even the little generational weath that does exist at the top income levels rarely last three. 98%bof whites are like me I got nothing, not a dime from any of my grandparents. Nothing from my father and a pittance from my mother after her bills were paid. Let alone my ancestors from 200 years ago. This idea that whites today all have some great wealth because of slavery and that if only blacks had more wealth then blacks would be equally wealthy today is a myth.

Blaming the crime and resulting poverty within the black communities on whites will solve nothing. Denying and playing games with numbers does not change the reality or the results.

You are wromg iin every aspect of this argument. And we aren't talking about wealth accumulated 200 years ago. Whites need to stop blaming crime on blacks and look at your own problem. As you have been shown, whites not only commit the most crime, they control every aspect of crime.

The Great Society doesn't have anything to do with jack squat. So let me repost this because its apparent that you guys stay stuck in this false narrative and you need to get unstuck and quick

Let’s talk about the assistance to single women with children part of the Social Security Act. Title 4 or IV provided grants to states as Aid To Dependent Children. Eventually the name of the program was changed to Aid to Families with Dependent Children. This was welfare. Assistance for single moms with children and no daddy at home. In 1935. Blacks were excluded. Aid to Dependent Children functioned mainly to provide federal grants to help the states with mothers’ aid laws that began in 1910.

The Aid to Dependent Children plan was written by two ladies who had been former directors of what was at the time called the U.S. Children’s Bureau. The Children’s Bureau’s goal was to provide aid to all children whose mothers had no support from a husband no matter how they got into that position. From the Children's Bureau in 1910 until 1965, no one talked about how the welfare state was wrong and created the disintegration of the white family. I read no lectures about the irresponsible white father. The program was not denigrated as something creating dependence on government; it was seen as essential assistance needed to help women without husbands who had children. Only when the law required that others besides whites be included did the story change to how the welfare state was wrong and destructive.

The great society prograns of FDR did not hurt the white family and blacks were excluded from those programs. Those programs created the white midde class of today.

BLACK REPARATIONS FOR TWENTIETH CENTURY FEDERAL
    HOUSING DISCRIMINATION:
THE CONSTRUCTION OF WHITE WEALTH AND THE EFFECTS OF
    DENIED BLACK HOMEOWNERSHIP

This paper examines the U.S. government’s instigation, participation, authorization, and perpetuation of federal housing discrimination against black Americans from the 1930s to the 1980s and the damage that such discrimination caused and continues to cause today. Delving into the U.S. government’s twentieth century federal housing practices, this paper discusses how the government effectively barred black-Americans from obtaining quality housing and from investing in housing as wealth, while simultaneously subsidizing and endorsing white homeownership, white suburbs, and white wealth.

Part I examines the U.S. government’s housing practices—from the New Deal until the 1968 Fair Housing Act and its 1988 Amendments—to reveal that although the New Deal’s national housing programs revolutionized homeownership and home equity in the United States, the U.S. government’s federal housing programs were racially discriminatory. Specifically, and quite shockingly, the U.S. government actively created and promulgated racist neighborhood rating systems that constructed black neighborhoods and black property as unstable, volatile, hazardous, and not worthy of investment. Using these racist rating systems, the federal government endorsed racial covenants and invested federal money into the creation and accumulation of white wealth, the value of whiteness, white suburbia, and white homeownership. Meanwhile, the government denied blacks federal housing funding, fueling black stigma and barring black-Americans from the invaluable twentieth century opportunities of homeownership and home equity.

Understanding the U.S. government’s discriminatory housing practices, Part II discusses and quantifies the effects of the government’s housing discrimination on black-American households and communities. Finding that approximately 120 billion 1950s dollars--or more than 1.239 quintillion 2019 dollars—were invested to subsidize and create white-American wealth through homeownership...

Do you understand how much a quintillion is? That is how much help whites got from the 1930's until at least 1968 and according to the writer, it tracks into the 1980's. This is not about 200 years ago and that wealth created with government help is what whites have today..

It's right wing to say I didn't participate in any of this? So you're saying truth is right wing.

That must mean lies are left wing. You said it think before you throw a fit about people not sitting with you.
    So?
Excuses for why you didn't just deserve money for being black? That's the entire planet.
I didn't read it thus I don't care. You failed to make an argument so you deserve nothing.
    Too bad.
you're the one that wants something
I already know you are manipulating white people with guilt to scam money out of them. Give me your book for free and I'll read it if not you can place it by the sun doesn't shine.

    I'm not a mark
Because you are far too incompetent to make an argument
There's a lot of reference to me in this pathetic excuse for why you can't argue. I guess your plight just isn't worth it.
You have no case. You can't even make it on a forum. When you demand the justice read some **** ass study you'll be laughed out of court.

    Plus
"Gimme money cuz I'm black" isn't going to happen.

So it is actually whites committed that 50% of violent crimes blacks commit even thought they are only 12% of the population? YOU are the one claiming it is because of what happened generations ago not me.

    OH it never happened?

You don't even know what was The Great Society and no blacks were not excluded from any program and what does it have to do with NOW?

I have several black neighbors who own their same as my house, nowhere is a black prevented from buying a house. That I have a house has NOTHNING to do with my parents let alone my grand parents or great grandparents or great great grandparents lack of wealth.

Tell me how does a black persons great grand father being poor makes them poor today?

The Great Society had more to do with making blacks an underclass than the previous centuries. Blacks actually had whole families prior to Johnson's Great Society, now they're completely broken. Now you know why Malcolm X never trust or liked white liberals.

Again correlation does not imply causation unless you have a negative bias against a particular race.
In 1959 55% of Blacks lived in poverty and over 60% were married. Now 17% of Blacks live in poverty and 31% are married.
They seem to have been a much larger "underclass" when married.

You can quote that old saying all you want, and argue with economist Thomas Sowell about it. The Black family was moving out of poverty on their own, and most were going to college by the 1960's. Johnson did zero to help them, and even enticed the break up of their families by the nature of the welfare system.

The expansion of the welfare system is only one of the reasons for the growth of the black underclass and the decline in the black family.

The other is the spread of computer technology and automation. These reduce the better paying jobs that can be learned by those with IQ's below 90. This is a growing problem for whites also. It is more of a problem for Negroes because the average black IQ is 85, while the average for whites is 100.

Yes, African Americans were moving out of poverty on their own despite the resistance of government and society by the '60s. The poverty rate was 35% in 1969, now it is 17% post the Great Society. The Black "underclass" is not growing, though it has twice the white poverty rate, but many more whites receive government assistance. Has that torn their families apart too? Are you concerned about them or just Blacks? I suggest you read Where's my Baby Daddy thread as to why marriage has become optional for all races. "Most (Blacks) were going to college by the 1960's"? Someone needs to get in touch with reality.
