And here are some more you may soon be seeing: And, while not included in this story @ http://www.buzzfeed.com/venessawong/mcdonalds-new-look#.ok9BvoWM3M another major change might be having someone bring your meal to your table! A heck of a long way from this:
The only reason they would want to deliver your food to the table is so that there is less waste and you won't be so disgruntled standing in a mob of 40 people not even sure where the lines start or end when they finally get around to "Who's next?" and the person who just walked in the door decides it is them.
I remember that when a hamburger cost .15 cents at McDonalds and the person at the counter spoke English, they always got the order right and Ray Kroc inspected the McDonalds restaurants with a white glove. They use to advertise that their restaurants could pass a Marine Corps white glove inspection. That was before McDonald's sold franchises. I remember when there was a banner over the Golden Arches proudly claiming "Over 500.000 hamburgers served"
The photo is from the original McDonald's brothers hamburger stand in San Bernardino. I still enjoy the Egg McMuffin with sausage and cheese but make sure to sop up the grease with a napkin first. Haven't been thrilled with the rest of the menu although will admit to occasionally stopping for the Spicy Chicken sandwiches for $1 each. Two of them and medium fries make a cheap meal. Just recently went to Carl's Jr. Find I like the Big Star far more than any other from a drive-thru - just too darned expensive though.
