The non-impact of COVID: With oldest Boomers 75 next year, why aren't death rates MUCH higher?

There's much talk in COVID Hoax circles about alleged "excess deaths" over previous years' national mortality numbers.

When asked to support this claim with hard numbers, tumbleweeds generally ensue.

If the ChiFlu virus is SO deadly, why are we seeing so few alleged "excess deaths" over the numbers of the last few years?

With the oldest Boomers now 74 & due to turn 75 next year, we'd expect to see soaring mortality rates for the next 20+ years even WITHOUT the ChiFlu, but we're seeing nothing close to that.

Explanation for the number of elderly Boomer deaths being so low in the midst of an allegedly mega-deadly pandemic?

I never intended to, I was just offering some hard numbers on the topic. I'm not the one making unsupported claims here.

Thank you for your frank admission that your link contributes nothing to the topic.

And I'm making no unsupported claims - everything I've said is factual.

But your non-contribution is unintentionally revealing, and for this I thank you.

When a cult forms around a hoax - as with the COVID Hoax - and it's paper-thin premise is torn to shreds, the cult can only react with a kind of blank denial, and this takes the form of insisting that the factual is not factual, or in non-response, or in some bizarre hybrid of the two, such as diversion or derailment.

The OP's facts stand, and COVID hoaxter hands are tied as their preposterous premise lies in ruins.

I didn't say that either. There seem to be two elements to your OP claims, that some people are talking about excess deaths without backing that up with figures and that COIVD, and the resultant excess deaths are a hoax.

My link doesn't relate to the former (that's their problem) but does relate to the latter. Those people aren't failing to provide figures because they don't exist so that isn't evidence of a hoax.

Sure you did. You've completely/deliberately(?) failed to grasp the OP.

Not in any sensible way which addresses the OP. Makes no sense.

Fascinating how the mind of the true believer works...

You don't need tumbleweeds. All the data are here, just go to this page, and then click through the various links that are there:

    https://www.nytimes.com/interactive...te=1&user_id=2f3ad75895928d53e10b62cada27fcc7

No, there isn't any discernible statistical difference in deaths between the Boomers turning 74 now, and the Boomers who turned 73 last year (last year also had other people turning 74). The excess deaths is comparing the data for this year, to one year ago for the same period. Sure, there'll be more deaths overall as our population ages and the Boomers start dying, but you don't explain a 200,000 excess achieved in 5 months by ONE year of gap in Boomers' age.

I mean, there's a freaking pandemic... people are dying... not only here but elsewhere... we suddenly get a 200,000 bump up, coinciding exactly with the months of the pandemic, and you assume that it's because of the Boomers? Don't you think that Boomers were daying in comparable numbers last year too?

You'd have a point if we were comparing today's numbers with ten years ago... but we're comparing to just 12 months earlier. There is no reason to suppose that these Boomers would suddenly start dying in hugely excessive numbers this year but not merely 12 months ago.

What's the much simpler explanation? The pandemic.

You can deny it as much as you want but the numbers don't lie. And don't give me this tumbleweed that we are not addressing your point. We are, if only, you are curious enough to go to the link I have just provided, explore it, AND THEN EXPLORE ITS LINKS which will link you to the hard data. Do you want me to do your homework for you? Sorry but you'll have to click on the links I've just provided.

I fully understood what you were trying to do with the OP, I just chose not to play along with the petty politics. Instead I focused on trying to offer some actual relevant facts to the topic.
