Even if the US hadn't been a factor Hitler would have had a rough time of it. That's because his philosophy was one of exclusion. He considered all others to be his enemies instead of his allies. So even if he had been successful he would probably would have had to kill hundreds of millions of people around the world before he gained total control.

The US had similar racial policies as the Nazis. But we had better propaganda. We said that we were in favor of democracy and equal rights although we denied those things here. So, because people wanted those things to be true we were able to control them without using overt force.

Communism was an oppressive philosophy but most oppressed people liked it better than Nazism because it wasn't an exclusive system based on race. It promised equality and a fairer system than what people had suffered under previously. It was great if you were a commie boss but sucked if you weren't. So if it had been just between the Nazis and the commies the commies would have won because they had an "inclusive" system rather than an "exclusive" system like the Nazis had.

We won because we had great propaganda, which attracted more allies. We also had better weapon systems and were not surrounded by close enemies.

Japan was strictly race-based and lacked natural allies. There were just a weak regional player and were lucky that they didn't have any strong regional opponents.

Italy was deluded. They weren't Romans!
