The real latest world news - these are some major events that have happened in the last 48 hours: over 500 people dead in Philippines flooding http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/mo...hilippines-storm/story-fn7x8me2-1226224712450 the last US troops have withdrawn from Iraq http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-16234723 Russia is having a bad weekend at sea - in both the northern and southern hemisphere: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-16235095 http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-12-18/stricken-russian-boat-in-27precarious-position27/3736934 and rough seas have cost the lives of over 150 refugees off Indonesia: http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2011/12/18/182-people-missing-ship-accident.html also in Indonesia - they're having trouble with volcanoes: http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/...us-raised-visitors-not-put-mining-halted.html there's trouble in Kazakhstan (no - it isn't about religion, its about workers being ripped off by oil companies) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-16235282 there's discussion over the trial of Bradley Manning: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...al-questioning-why-so-much-is-classified.html and last but not least ... the entire global economy is up shyt creek: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-12-16/imf-chief-issues-debt-crisis-warning/3735030 but people here don't seem to see this stuff. their world consists only of searching for opportunities to bad mouth muslims.
You don't seem to see the equally many topics started by the adverseries of the people you see! I agree that the Muslim and Israeli issue fills a lot here however this is a debate forum and the topics you mention are perhaps less open to discussion? I certainly have taken note of the news from the Philippines however I'm not sure what there is to discuss about it. I imagine pretty much everyone here has great sympathy for the victims.
This section would be vastly improved by a sticky thread for "muslim x does (*)(*)(*)(*)ty thing y" and one for "Israeli x does (*)(*)(*)(*)ty thing y". At one point yesterday or day before, one unnamed poster had spammed 4 separate threads all detailing muslim x did this in the space of a few minutes and had about 4 more threads of exactly the same content on the first page. It seems that discussion is less important here than playing a numbers game with threads on the first page. What is the score now ? Last I checked it was about 10 - 2 to the Islamofascists, but all that could change with a bit of obsessive internet trawling and a swathe of worthless posting
Lots of problems in this world... I think the only goo news in all of that is US troops are out of Iraq. سلام
Why dont you post them then?instead of spamming your own thread with a list of links trying to make a selectively biased point...dont forget to add the original commentary thats supposed accompany your links. It would seem this OP here isnt adhering to the TOS. Think about it....you'd break up the monotony of these allegedly one sided Islamophobes, wallpapering the forum if you posted these stories individually and correctly and maybe got folks to talk about them. Instead you are an apologist who doesnt really care about "real world news"...just slighting zionists. As far as I can tell you almost never start threads about latest world news events.
I think we need a special board opened for that member. One where he can post all he wants and we can ignore it.
exactly. general (*)(*)(*)(*)ty people in th emiddle east did x, y or z should have a sub forum of its own, otherwise PF just looks liek anti islamic hate site. and while some of the events reported are quite horrific - do they really rate higher in "world news" than something like this? http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/8391764/ny-police-quiz-man-over-elevator-fire-death quite frankly, if I posted every piece of violent murderous crap I see on the msn homepage, there would be more american violence in latest world news than there is islamic violence - and that would be from just one source. but would that make everyone all think that americans were psycopaths?
Israel announces one thousand new homes to be constructed in Jerusalem and the West Bank. Supposedly, this is in reaction to unilateral actions by the Palestinians at the United Nations. http://edition.cnn.com/2011/12/18/world/meast/israel-housing-construction/?hpt=wo_c2
Too bad the world is full of ignorant people who obey religion, question no authority, and are only out for themselves. If you take all that away, the isreal and muslim stuff would be minimal, and the real world events would fill the real world news. Religion has not changed in over 2000 years and the issues of muslim and isreal will never change as long as fools obey and follow invisible idologies.
That's sadly nothing new. Israel has been expanding illegal settlements ever since the US government chose to adopt a foolish middle eastern foreign policy.
Thats only because the press in the countries like Brazil, Mexico or Venezuela, that are the murder capitals of the world are either oppressed by the govt or intimidated by criminals. Do the Turkish dailies print stories about honor killings? China or NK running investigative reports about its concentration camps? I wonder how many of those crimes you could find in the US would be commited by folks who werent even Americans at all, but simply in America. Try and remember America is a large dense country made up of folks from all walks of life. Like I said , start posting your stories, I hate criminals of all sorts and God knows some of the crimes committed here are outrageous. Am I supposed to get defensive? No, we can have a good old time bashing the criminals...and perhaps even the justice system when it treats them like victims instead of murderers. And it would break up the ArabIsraeli , Muslim/Zionist monopoly.
Only slighly worse than the Evangelical/Fundamentalist bible thumpers , in yr own country. btw - the Israel/Palestine conflict is political not religion. Religious differences are merely powerful weapons used /exploited for political purposes. ....
Have you not recoginized both of their politics,in relation to this land dispute are driven directly by religion?
I mentioned it. I mentioned the soldiers pulling out of Iraq (surely a bigger news story on a US based forum than some nutter chopping off his wife's fingers) Bradley Manning's trial is also certainly worth discussing, one would think - from several perspectives. the violence in Kazkhstan - a country where western interests have investments, and which produces fuel resources - may well have economic implications and does eastern europe need problems with oil and gas supply at the beginning of winter? I think you should face the truth. your myopic islamophobia does not allow you to see a wider world.
Islamism is a very real issue in the contemporary world whether you like it or not simple as that. Propaganda tactics of labelling ones adverseries in this fashion only demonstrate the paucity of your argument.
