Your state constitution does not allow amendments? Wow, if California had that, same sex marriage would be legal.

    No I wouldn't.

The guy who declared he was a genius in college and then later found out he had an I.Q. of 91 didn't make a choice either. Both were just mistaken.

You're argument relies on the false premise that legal marriage is a right; it's not. It also relies on the false premise that states can't issue licenses selectively based on qualifications.

It is eyewitness testimony and meets the standard of evidence. Care to answer the question?

You alluded to an "edit", not an amendment authorized by a super-majority.

Yes I did. That's why I feel no need to entertain your question.

Of course can issue licenses selectively, just not arbitrarily. If challenged, they must express the necessity for whatever qualifications they establish under judicial review. Just like any law. As to marriage being a legal right... that's well established.

And if it is a choice? So what? Religion is a choice. Imagine if states started passing laws that make it illegal for Hindus to get married since marriage is ordained by the Bible. How far would that go before people would cry foul? Yet, if a person chooses to love someone of the same sex, they are discriminated against. I'm seeing a double standard here.

which is anecdotal, and I don't believe.

maybe you would like to try again? provide some scientific basis for your assertion?

I posted the reply you eluded to. it did not address my question in any way.

I understand your need to dodge though. You've been cornered, and you have no way out.

The analogy is this: in both cases someone made a declaration, we assume both declarations were sincere. Evidence later in their life showed the declaration to no longer be true.

You are asserting this is proof they changed their circumstances. I'm illustrating their circumstances may not have changed, they may have simply been confused about them at the time of their declaration.

More likely it's hearsay (unless it was you who declared yourself homosexual in college). You didn't experience the relevant facts you just relayed what you were told.

It's not arbitrary at all. If you're gay, you ain't qualified.

That's actually a pretty good argument. Kudos to you. But religious freedom is specifically protected in the Constitution; sexual preference is not.
