I think that we should explore teaching people what this country is and what it was founded on...which is not majority rule. There's a reason that we're a REPUBLIC and not a direct democracy. But we get it, the left prefers using mob rule in order to push their agenda of stripping people of their Rights.

Courts are not supposed to reflect the views of the majority. Courts are supposed to reflect the law as allowed under the Constitution.

And no, its not untruthful to suggest Dem's goal is to trash the 2nd Amendment. There are plenty of Democrats that have said that they want guns banned. Every single Democrat Presidential Candidate for this election year has proposed banning "assault style weapons". In 2018 Congressman David N. Cicilline introduced a bill that would ban all semi automatic weapons sales and transfers. Meaning the only ones that could own a semi automatic gun would be those that already own one. Their children couldn't even inherit the gun after their parents die because it bans the transfer of them.

No, Dems are not going to ban them straight out as in "coming to your door and confiscating". But over time there would be no more semi automatic guns simply through attrition.

    Here's the link btw: LINK

Here's the most recent gun control legislation : LINK

It goes on to give exemptions to the elite of course.

    And there's more to it.

So no, its not "untruthful". It is FACT.

The irony of the EC is that its theoretical construct was based on the idea a prez could ignore the wishes of the minority by appealing to the majority. In reality, with Trump, it has achieved the opposite.

The is the exact sort of elitist snobbery the Electoral College was designed to mitigate.

Those founders were some smart cookies.

WY has three EC votes and a population of 586,107, while CA has 55 EC votes and 39,144,818 residents. Distributing the EC vote evenly among each state’s residents suggests that individual votes from WY carry 3.6 times more influence, or weight, than those from CA.

    You were saying.................

Kinda like Trump saying the horrible COVID numbers in the US due to his failed response "is what it is."

"But sure, you're really worried about equality"

My concern is inequality. As in the current system that gives far too much influence to the minority.

My goal is to get Dems to stop playing nice. Repubs have shown a complete disregard for fairness, tradition, the wishes of the majority, etc. Time for Dems to cowboy up. Time to use the the majority to take the country back.

The current system is no different then the system the Founders created....well other then the recent rule changes in the Senate by the left that destroyed the Filibuster. What disregard for "fairness, tradition the wishes of the majority" give specific examples of this Frankly the wishes of the majority shouldn't be a concern per se....if 51 percent of the population wanted to kill the other 49 percent we sholdn't listen to the majority...that's why our founders created a republic

Besides that there is no difference.

In other words it is just their singular goal of getting complete control of the national government and replacing the Constitution with something more to their liking that befits their totalitarian power, just stated in nicer sounding terms.

I continue to be amazed at how folks like yourself, with views solidly in the minority, recoil at the notion of the country's policies reflecting what the majority want. That recoil taking the form of outlandish claims of replacing the Constitution even as the prez you support routinely disregards its intent.

Just a wild guess. You may not like a single party system. The other ones become very authoritarian.

I agree that returning to Democracy is the priority. But that implies so many things. There is a lot of damage that has been done. For Democracy to return to pre-2017 status it will take more than 4 years... Likely more than 8. It's easier to break a system than to put it back together again.

No need for red herrings. Repub party policies, virtually across the board, are unpopular. In order to retain power, or perhaps more accurately to ensure their unpopular policies will remain in place, they are engaging in things like packing the courts and voter suppression.
Once the majority seizes power the rational thing for Repubs to do in order to expand their base is to move toward the center from the far right where they reside. They may do well to start basing their beliefs on facts and science as well. Or, become irrelevant. Their choice.

Unpopular with socialist...but not unpopular with freedom loving Americans that believe in our Founding Documents, the right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, which includes the right to work, earn for oneself, purchase property etc.

That is an unpopular view with the Communist Party of China and the puppets in the Dem party today

Majority rule and mob rule aren't the same thing. You want mob rule. Thank goodness the Founders were far wiser than the liberal minds of today...
