Because the idiocracy rules these here lands. All of your deep thoughts, interpretations, and arguments really do not mean a thing. Because you have 100 people at best on this forum arguing over policy, while 20-50 million (at minimum) vote for a party because they are idiots. The majority of the 300 million in this nation voted for no one as president.
The point is mute because it says as much as it means. Leaving aside the fact that there are several non-Americans here, the fact that a majority of one's countrymen vote differently than you do doesn't mean that they are stupid, it just means they understand the situation better than you do.
It does raise the point though that 40% or more did not vote. That means Obama was chosen by a little more than 30% of the eligible electorate.
In 2012 54% of eligible voters voted for President. In 2008 62% voted. In both elections Obama won more than 51% of the vote. The choice of people to vote or not is their's for whatever reason. The opinions of those who did not vote, as far as I am concerned just don't count.
What if everyone got lucky and those ones to not vote were the dumb idiots who would have voted for Nazis?
Average intelligence is 100... and that is (*)(*)(*)(*)ing stupid. It means nothing of the kind. The "smartest" people do not carry greater representation... Though they should.
