If every state had an official dessert, what would it be? (Montana gets Smores.) Click this link if you want to see the map @ http://www.slate.com/articles/life/...a_dessert_for_every_state_in_the_country.html
I've been to Hershey, PA, USA Hershey's is alright. American candy tastes different to sweets in England. Sodas can be different too.. In the UK we have Lilt, which is made by Coca-Cola UK... Lilt is good, avoid Tizer, it's not made by Coca-Cola and it tastes like poo. If you want to sample a British soda and don't want value / econo foods, try Vimto, Vimto'll beat Tizer. Vimto is, it's grape, blackberry and raspberry soda (also cordial, then it became a soda) and is just as British as Tizer but, Tizer is lemon soda mixed with orange soda and a whole lot of sugar substitutes and horrible, horrible, cheap, nasty, soda. - Just saying.. If you don't mind artificial sugars and all of that witchery to get your food price down, do it, but if not, Just buy yourself a Sprite and Fanta (orange), mix it together and call it a Tizer. - Also don't because, in the UK, now all soda, original or diet now all contain the sugar substitute aspartame. Dr. Pepper, Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Lilt etc... (I don't know what Pepsi are doing). I don't drink Soda anymore, so, I'm out of the loop with Soda tbh). You can buy AW Root Beer here, but not everywhere. In fact, not in a lot of places, but, it's floating around... When I first went to America and tried root beer for the first time, my reaction was 'You know that thing at the dentist they give you to wash out your mouth'.. At first I didn't like it, but... Acquired taste and all that? Or maybe it was Mugs? IDK. It was the one sold at Subway, since it was Subway in PA who had the root beer I had, but... If they carry both brands then, IDK. Nestlé do KitKat here... (And everywhere else in the world).. In London, I know a big shop near Piccadilly Circus that can get you Green Tea KitKats from Japan. Welcome to UK, btw, I once found a Baberuth bar in Tesco.
A good topic - am surprised it got so little response. As for Minnesota, at times called "Lake WOEbegone", it is difficult to determine which is the state's # 1 dessert as folks here love their sweets and Spam is considered by many to be gourmet food. Among the top faves there are frosted mini-donuts, cinnamon sugar donuts, ice cream, and what is likely to be #1 are caramel rolls:
Arizona - - The Churro https://www.google.com/search?q=pic...sKHZq9DFoQ9QEwBXoECAAQCg#imgrc=N1xSXPTwOhWq5M:
