I was listening to the NPR recitation of the Declaration of Independence this morning and reflected thus:

The English King of the time wask not only very sick and stupid but the English Parliament was too. And I say this as a citizen birn and brought up as a Brit.

But 200 or more years on we need a new Declaration of Independence. To free us from the tyranny of the Koch Bros and Big Money in politics who are now wreaking havoc on the freedoms we so gallantly fought for over 200 years ago. We are allowing our own people to do to us what we Declared Indpencence for in the beginning. This cannot be right.

We fought a war to free ourselves from tyranny and oppression but now happily let our own billionaires do it to ourselves.

    Tyranny

    Noun, plural tyrannies.

    1. arbitrary or unrestrained exercise of power; despotic abuse of authority.
    Synonyms: despotism, absolutism, dictatorship.
    2. the government or rule of a tyrant or absolute ruler.
3.a state ruled by a tyrant or absolute ruler.
4.oppressive or unjustly severe government on the part of any ruler.

Obama's Executive Amnesty, the IRS destroying eMails after a subpoena for them was issued are fine examples of the definition of Tyranny. What have the Koch Bros done that can match that?

It's not about "the Koch Brothers".

It's about.... George Soros. And Warren Buffett. And Larry Ellison. And Haim Saban. And Jeffrey Katzenberg.

And yes, the Kock Brothers. Them too.

It's about the money. It's about the idea that we are being disenfranchised by the money. OUR so-called "elected representatives" are openly selling their votes on national television, and our presidential candidates are soliciting funds in foreign countries!

Clearly, it's the money that matters to these people, not the idea of representing the People of the United States.

And if they don't want to represent us politically, then I suggest they're not going to care about protecting our rights either.

All they seem to care about is the money, it's the only thing that matters.

The law means nothing, they just change it if it inconveniences them, or ignore it if they can't. They expect us to obey the law, while they're using our tax money for all manner of illegal activities.

Including the biggest insult and the biggest slap in the face of all - the selling out of our votes.

    It's taxation without representation.

    Them's fighting words.
