I ran across this, from CNN, and it is unusual that they would even show this. In Youngstown Ohio several thousands life long democrats were fed up and went for Trump and are very happy with his performance to date. When I listened to it, it was a reminder of how the Democratic Party no longer represents the same people they once represented. Working Americans. The Common Man. And Trump in regards to the economy sounded like what the Democrats used to sound like.

Today, the DP seems to look down their noses and despise the very people they once stood up for and represented. They certainly stopped representing their economic interests. How did the DP get to this? Driving life long democrats, FDR Democrats no doubt, into the arms of Trump?

Why is it the DP no longer represents the salt of the earth, the backbone of America, the working American? All opinions are welcomed. I just want to know what you think, and I would hope you would drop the partisanship and be intellectually and objectively honest with your answers.

Since the start of 2017, I haven't seen a single reason to believe Republicans look out for my best interest as a working American. They talk about these tax cuts being a blessing, when really all they are is simply scraping the barrel for scraps to hand out to the American worker. As a Democrat, there's no way in hell I was voting for Trump. Hillary even before Trump, and I had to hold my nose to vote for her.

I don't think the Democratic Party has stopped representing We The People. We just have actors over saviors. Actors like Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters that make us look bad. I honestly think if we got rid of the actors, and got some more progressive candidates that offered real, solid solutions to the average American, trust would begin to rebuild in the Democratic Party. That's my answer.

I'm more and more surprised (perhaps disappointed) that a middle of the road third party hasn't been able to get off the ground. There seems to be a polarization of left and right that's leaving many Americans feeling as though it is just the blow-hards on either side that get all the oxygen.

Really? What would the gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-trial lawyer-MSM Complex call such a third party alternative? Racists? Extremists? Elitists? Nutjobs? Religious Fanatics? Fascists? Nazis? Hillbillies? Corporatists? Have you not realized that's what they call -any- non Democrat option thus shutting down competition?

You're going to have to have a thicker skin in politics - go back and look at the political cartoons for the last two hundred years - there has always been a penchant for painting the other party with broad strokes and divisive language ... sad - but reality.

That wasn't the point, and you well know it. It's not a matter of mere "thin skin," but of an overwhelming force of entrenched government power focused against any possible upstart. It would have swept Trump and his superhuman campaign work ethic right into the trash had the Democrats run a plausible candidate.

You'll see exactly what I'm talking about when the memo drops... soon.

This is why the only remedy is to decentralize and defang Washington power. I don't want Democrats, Republicans or ANYONE to have the level of crushing power that has been abused, and will be abused to destroy any "threats" to an entrenched hegemony.
