This Is Why Worse Droughts Mean WAY Worse Floods

A fascinating, informative video that explains the situation very clearly. We have certainly been feeling these effects in the US with droughts in some regions and increased rainfall leading to more flooding in others, and this is due to the warmer air being able to hold more moisture, extracting more from the land and dumping more back out in rainstorms.

And there is a lot more that they explain.

Sorry, but we'll have to disagree. Neither droughts nor flooding are worse than historic norms.

How can we be in a drought if there is flooding?

". . . As I will demonstrate, the NOAA Drought Monitor information is unscientific and subjective. More of a political and motivational tool than reliable guidance to make key decisions. . . ."

A case study from the recent past:

Was Global Warming The Cause of the Great Northwest Heatwave? Science Says No.

    Synopsis

Society needs accurate information in order to make crucial environmental decisions. Unfortunately, there has been a substantial amount of miscommunication and unscientific handwaving about the recent Northwest heatwave, and this blog post uses rigorous science to set the record straight. First, the specific ingredients that led to the heatwave are discussed, including a high-amplitude ridge of high pressure and an approaching low-pressure area that “supercharged” the warming. Second, it is shown that global warming only contributed a small about (1-2F) of the 30-40F heatwave and that proposed global warming amplification mechanisms (e.g., droughts, enhanced ridging/high pressure) cannot explain the severe heat event. It is shown that high-resolution climate models do not produce more extreme high temperatures under the modest global warming of the past several decades and that global warming may even work against extreme warming in our region. Importantly, this blog demonstrates that there is no trend towards more high-temperature records. Finally, the communication of exaggerated and unfounded claims by the media, some politicians, and several activists are discussed.

The guy was disputing 2015 data about Washington state's drought conditions on a damned blog, and you choose to attack all of climate science on that basis? Do you even look at sources that might challenge your views, or are you like Jeannette and all of those clowns who ignore all information contrary to their preferred misinformation?

"Rigorous science" is peer-reviewed and otherwise adheres to scientific standards, not one guy's opinions posted to a blog.

There is even a rebuttal to this:

    A controversial figure
Mass says he does think climate change — caused by greenhouse gases from burning fossil fuel and other humans sources — is a problem. He is convinced this will result in more frequent heat waves and extremes later this century, and says “mankind should work to reduce emissions.” But he says his research leads him to conclude that in western Washington — due to a weakening of east winds that bring interior heat — these will be less intense than others forecast. And he doubts there will be a repeat of temperatures experienced in this summer’s heat wave in the next few decades.

“I don’t believe we are facing any kind of existential threat,” Mass said. “But it is not a good idea to muck around with the climate of the planet.”

Alarmist Scientist Tim Flannery’s Drought Prediction Contradicted… “Heavy Rainfalls” 3 Years In a Row
    By P Gosselin on 21. October 2022

By Snow Fan Source: Australian Government, Bureau of Meteorology La Niña continues to ravage Australia for the third year in a row, and for the third time this year – instead of the increasing drought that was predicted a few years ago – Australia is experiencing repeated flooding. Eighteen years ago, Australia’s climate commissioner and […]

Rescued 66,000 Sheets Of Real UK Rainfall Observations Refute Alarmist Claims Of More Drought
    By P Gosselin on 13. September 2022

United Kingdom rainfall has been increasing over the past two centuries. Europe saw a dry summer this year and global climate alarmists claimed that droughts are becoming more and more frequent. This is the new normal, they like to claim. However, a treasure of hard data refute this completely. A recent paper by Hawkins et […]

Nothing Alarming: Europe Data Show No Upward Trend In Droughts And Forest Fires
    By P Gosselin on 24. August 2022

German online NOVO-Argumente looks at the forest fire situation in Germany and Europe. Currently parts of Europe are experiencing severe drought conditions and forest fires are raging in Germany. Climate activists and the mainstream are claiming it’s climate change, and it’s unprecedented. But NOVO-Argumente looks at the historical data going back decades and finds nothing […]

Alarmists Scaremongering, Ignore Germany’s Long History Of Massive Flooding
    By P Gosselin on 23. July 2021

CO2 scaremongering and the truth about German floods By Fred F. Mueller Last week we saw flood disasters in various areas of Germany and other European countries, especially in the area of the Ahr River, which have not only caused billions in damage, but tragically also claimed up to more than 200 lives. Considering that […]

CO2 Connection Demolished… New Findings: “No Statistically Significant Trends In US Flooding And Rainfall From Tropical Storms!
    By P Gosselin on 3. October 2018

With the blaring headlines we saw in the wake of tropical storm Harvey over Houston last year and Florence over the Carolinas last month, the CO2 hysteria saw another severe flare up. However, a scientific study recently published in the Journal of Hydrology analyzed North Atlantic tropical cyclones (TCs) and their contribution to flooding and […]

Doomsday Climate Models Wrong Again! Hurricanes Declining…Flooding Over Europe Not More Frequent
    By P Gosselin on 5. June 2018

Meteorologist Dr. Ryan Maue pointed out here at Twitter that hurricane activity has not lived up to the climate model projections and that major hurricanes in the 1970s and 80s were “likely underestimated” The hurricane expert tweeted: Over the past 4-decades, number of global HURRICANE strength tropical cyclones (about 48/year) have actually DECREASED, while MAJOR […]
