Hi! I'm not sure at all what you mean by "thread views". Are you talking about how a thread is actually seen? What someone's perspective is in a thread? And please say more about what you mean about them being "tallied". (Not trying to be sarcastic, just truly don't understand what you're asking, which makes it hard for me to answer) thanks, tresh PF Adviser
Each thread has a Replies/Views tally. You can see it when viewing the subforum as a whole. I am wondering how these "views" are tallied or counted. Is it one view per IP address?
Registered members, who have viewed a thread, are listed at the bottom of that thread. Looking at our 'who's online' option, we can see which guest is viewing what. (not everyone can see that option, but its reserved for staff and donors...I think). So I am guessing that it is tallied by IP.
A-ha! Now I get it. I think what Shang said it's correct, but I would add that the post viewed 'count' doesn't go up when the thread creator goes to the thread. I'm not sure why, but I remember testing this theory a few years back and it seems to be the same today.
