    Inflation requires circulation. Those 2 coins will never leave the US Mint.

    Why bother wasting the energy and time to melt metal when one could just enter the digits into the treasury account with a computer keyboard?

    The checks the gov will write against them will, and no buyer on earth would every purchase the valueless coins

    A lot could go wrong. Just like what is going wrong with Trumps trillion dollar deficit or cutting interest rates while the economy was growing. We are going to really regret that one. But with how much debt we are in, we might be forced to do something like this.

    Because digital money isn't a thing (so far as USD goes) that's how banks manage money but the actual money supply is cold hard cash. The coins deal with that fact.

    We're in a deflationary event, pumping capital onto the system us a good thing.
