We will fly Detroit to Orlando in November and want to carry while in FL. Do you think its better to suffer the airlines, or ship them UPS to my dad and back?
UPS. I too will be in Florida in 3 weeks, finding stupid and making the morning news. Nice to know SMW has my back and will post my bond if need be.
It's against UPS regulations unless either or both of you are FFL holders of some kind. https://www.ups.com/us/en/help-center/packaging-and-supplies/special-care-shipments/firearms.page
-Some- people believe petty, puerile, and petulant personal attacks are an effective substitute for a rational, reasoned argument.
Meaning an actual, legitimate response does not exist on the part of yourself. As such, there is no point in the presence of yourself.
I've been to Florida several times, obviously without a gun. Drove about, walked about, up to Jacksonville etc.. I survived. Back home in the UK, I drive about, walk about etc.. without a gun. How about, fly there and then buy a gun to protect you from all these enemies that you have.
Be brave, don't wear your seat belt. It's not about bravery. It's about being prepared. I personally rather be a prepared coward and live than to be an unprepared brave heart and die.
I use to read stories about criminals in FL looking for tourists around airports thinking they had a greater chance of being unarmed compared to FL natives who have CCP. https://www.nytimes.com/1993/09/09/us/tourist-is-killed-in-florida-despite-taking-precautions.html
I don't feel like I'm going to die just like you don't feel like you're going to die if you don't wear your seat belt. Why does it have to be an either/or with carrying? I'm neither afraid nor acting tough by carrying my firearm. In fact the last thing I want anyone in the general public to know is that I'm carrying. I want to be unassuming. I go about my business like any normal person would. the only difference is I have a backup in case things goes south.
Nothing on the radar, time to take a break and do some fishing for a couple of days near the panhandle.
We thought about Florida and Western Texas but N. Arkansas next to Beaver lake won out. Beautiful area with plenty of hunting and Fishing.
I do have a plate carrier, but wearing a bulletproof vest for me is impractical and may cause for alarm. Like I said, when I'm out and about, I want to blend in. most vests aren't slim enough to accomplish that.
