And during that time what leadership did Trump show to indicate he took covid seriously?

Clinton was being impeached and still went about the business of running the country. But then trump is no Clinton! Obviously it was too much for him. I guess all the 3 AM tweets wore him out.

Well then knowing how stupid he is they should have prepared for the greeting with either gloves or a heads-up for him prior to the encounter.

Most people have learned not to do that as children and don't need to be told. Besides Melania was a child ventriloquist and knows Donald doesn't have a chance of catching her via Marco Polo.

I'm sick and tired if his lies to deflect. Obama's response to h1n1 was a disaster? Why? Because Trump says it his base runs with it with no evidence, Trump just wants their eyes off him. When Obama addressed the nation less than three weeks after the first case anywhere in the world. During the address he didn't minimize the danger and requested vigilance and to follow some simple rules, stay home if you're I'll, cough into your sleeve, wash your hands and stop shaking hands. By doing that the people felt empowered and there was far less panic. He then introduced the team of doctors and scientists charged with attacking the danger. Again, a confidence builder. At no point did he talk about Obama this and republicans that he wasn't giving a speech to protect his brand.
Trump has done nothing but deny and talk about the perfect job he's doing. If he brings up doctors and scientist it's to blame them for not being as smart and perfect as him. He even makes a point of not doing the things a vigilant person should do. Not a good example but in fact a bad one.
Not a good leader in these times but a bad one.

Trump is the furthest thing from a real leader anybody could possibly be. Yes, he has blind flowerers but that does not a real leader make. Trump attracts a certain type and I don't believe most of them are happy or secure people. A well adjusted person cannot look up to a sociopath like Trump.

At first I thought flowerers was a typo but the more I look at it the more I realize it's the right word.

He didn’t ask for Dem support to announce the flight ban or impose a state of emergency. Clinton continued to govern while under impeachment.
Until this week he downplayed the risk.

Don’t blame anyone else for his lack of leadership.

The CDC is the executive branch response team.

this was a group, originally headed by a dnc political operative, that Obama put in the White House for PR purposes

He wasn’t going to ask. Why would he? He announced the ban on travel with China and the dems said it was an overreaction and racist.

This thread is about Trump’s actions in dismissing the pandemic response team a couple of years ago in order to save costs. Do you support what he did?
