That's a back-pedal argument. Two thousand were separated permanently for a crime no greater than a misdemeanor, and they shouldn't have been separated in the first place, not for a misdemeanor.

The separations were the consequence of 'zero tolerance'. That consequence is precisely why no prior administration ever had it.

 

I have read it. I prefer to save 85,000 children verses 2000 children.

 

What crime caused 85000 children to be separated from their families? And not only that, many likely ended up in terrible conditions as opposed to the 2000 who likely ended up in good homes.

 

Taxation is political and never about being "fair" or even "progressive".
It is always all about transferring power/money from a political opposition's base to the base of the political faction in power.

This goes back to the resources argument.

It takes resources to locate the parents of that many children, but understand they are arriving unaccompanied at th border, and that's altogether different that what zero tolerance policy did.

And why aren't' there enough resources?

Because Republicans won't pass the border bill.

Now please find another argument, what you are implying lacks context. There are two sides to that story, and you are only telling one side.

on Trump's zero tolerance, there is only one side, that the policy is DIRECTLY responsible for children being lost. They do not arrive lost, but they wind up lost. that isn't what is happening in your example, they are arriving lost.

During Trump, there were about 500,000 unaccompanied minors who arrived at the border, and how many of those do you think Trump returned to their parents?

It's not known, but it sure is hell is a lot more than 85,000

So, if you want to make an apples to apples comparison, I find it odd you don't mention Trump.

What does Trump do? He pushes them over to Mexico side, and says 'not my problem'.

That's cruel and inhumane, and any 'stat' you can derive from it is an immoral stat and unusable.

But all you can do is bellyache about the border, which you guys do not want to solve anyway, as if we solved it, you guys wouldn't have something to complain about Biden about.

That's the real reason Johnson doesn't want to put the border bill to the floor for a vote, he knows it would pass.

None of this would have been necessary with a wall. A few would have made it through, but it would have been greatly reduced.

 

The democratically controlled NY Times originally published the story. Lot of words, but the article did not debunk anything.

 

And Biden and the Lefist should be made to state exactly what the fair share is of each group they seek to achieve. That they refuse only shows we are far past what even they would say is UNfair.
