I want everyone to recover, but is it okay to want Trump to maybe suffer a bit first? :blownose:

I saw this morning that even the White House confirmed it, saying that Ops okayed it. I'm sure he mostly distanced himself, but he wasn't wearing a mask and he couldn't distance himself from everyone. Plus I saw he was tossing out hats to the crowd, but I don't know how much of a risk that is. I feel for the guy, and I hope he gets better, but I'm livid about this.

Elect a Drama Queen and you get drama.

Looking forward to a few years of relaxed, plain old Joe. Sleepy is sounding good for a change.

If Trump suffers (a little bit more than a bit) that could save thousands of lives in the next few months. Otherwise look out for the rapid rise of deaths from the virus

It was at a 9/11 memorial event in 2016. She had what's called "walking pneumonia" -- not severe enough to require hospitalization, mostly you feel like you have a bad cold. She stumbled and had to be helped to her car. Trump ridiculed her for it like it was a sign of weakness. He was being his usual ugly self, no empathy or sympathy, just jeering and sneering.

I seriously doubt that he would keep a distance because he'd been exposed to the virus. That would indicate that he actually gave a damn about someone besides himself.

Why do you think that? I didn't read every post but I didn't see anything that suggested it was his idea to take the experimental meds.

That's been confirmed. I also wonder how many of them were actually tested prior to the debates and how many false negatives they may have had. I'm sure we'll never be told that but it seems reckless for his entourage to decline masks at the venue. Well, they've been reckless the whole time. I'm surprised this didn't happen after the convention, quite frankly.

It's beyond aggravating. I'm in here, chastising people for celebrating what's happening, yet, the WH is still demonstrating that, what? What are they trying to prove? That they are idiots?

Everywhere that has mask compliance has seen a reduction in cases. This is a world wide truth.
Low mask compliance leads to an increase in cases. This is a world wide truth.

    I'm so confused.

You've been unaware of the many people who say that we should not even wear masks because the only people who die from Covid are the elderly who are going to die anyway?

I'm right there with you. It's infuriating and confusing. I don't profess to know the minds of the decision makers but I get the impression they think the mask make them "look weak". So, the optics would make it appear the POTUS is in worse shape than reported and they are scared of the virus now.

I've always maintained that he should have lead by example especially since it's now been proven that he knew about the seriousness as far back as February (even if he didn't want to incite a panic). He could STILL come out with a strong stance behind the doctors' and scientists' recommendations. It's sad that his ego (?) won't allow him to do that.

This is one of the reasons that it is quite important that Trump does suffer as much as Boris Johnson did (don't want him to die). If he is up and about this time next week tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of more people will die because "see the virus is nothing to be worried about"

The irony is that in an attempt to not appear weak, they actually make themselves look pretty dumb.

    Interesting choice.

How is that asking elderly people to sacrifice themselves? That's just recognizing facts.

I've been thinking on it more and maybe this could work as reverse psychology. People could start wearing masks because they know the President didn't and now he has it. It's a stretch, for sure, but just might work.

Recognizing facts is one thing, telling people that others should have no concern about spreading a disease that will kill them because they themselves are immune to it is something else.

Are you aware of Typhoid Mary? Do you approve of someone doing what she was accused of?

OK, but, it's not his decision what treatment he receives, is it? What's the point in going to the hospital if he is going to defy doctors' recommendations? Or, are you thinking he signed an AMA (Against Medical Advice) to get that particular drug?

His team at Walter Reed made the decision. It's proving to be very effective, with no big side effects.
