Trump to appear in court to face federal charges in 2020 election case

Former President Donald Trump is leaving Bedminster, New Jersey, and is on his way to Washington, DC, to be arraigned on charges for efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

After arriving at the US District Court this afternoon, Trump will be placed under arrest, processed and likely arraigned in court.

Because Trump has already been processed in the federal system for his arrest in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case, his booking today is likely to be streamlined.

Trump is expected to plead not guilty and to be released pending trial.

As with his NY indictment, MSNBC seems obsessed with following his car ride to Newark for the plane ride south, but it appears Con Air will be aloft within the hour.

As indicated above, Trump is now a FIP (Frequently Indicted Person), so it should go pretty quickly this time.

I've seen some live shots outside the courthouse, and I don't see an obvious gathering of nuts... mostly media types it seems (same thing if Fox is there)

Always have to be aware when spark Trump meets burnable paper MAGA supporters, but seems his peeps don't really give him much of a thought anymore.

I for one hope so! The horror of watching Jan 6th live was, well, horrific.
Still surprised only one person was shot that day. The police showed an amazing amount of restraint.
