Trump tries to reassure seniors he won’t let them die after polling shows he’s hemorrhaging their support

“The latest Morning Consult poll found that 65-and-older voters prioritized defeating the coronavirus over healing the economy by nearly a 6-to-1 ratio,” he wrote. “And over the past month, they’ve become the group most disenchanted with Trump’s handling of the crisis. In mid-March, seniors were more supportive of Trump than any other age group (plus-19 net approval). Now, their net approval of the president has dropped 20 points and is lower than any age group outside of the youngest.”..............

Whaddaya know, all the other seniors and vulnerable, think that Trump and the right wing want them dead. Or at least dont give a rats ass, as they are as Oreilly said, on their last legs.

Add to that, the blacks, think Trump might just ENJOY losing all them Democratic voters.

This is shaping up to be the long due wakeup call. Trump is incompetent, and lacks any compassion. Put those together, and you got genocide.

As I warned, FLORIDA will be Trump's downfall. The shove there, to reopen at ANY cost, has the elderly scared stiff. They see, JUST LIKE I DO AND said so, that they are IN THE WAY being alive.

Write off them blue states, and blue cities, WHO CARES, said the right wing. Serves them right, for piling one atop another. Had it coming. BUT FLORIDA, now THERE is a PR catastrophy.

Trump, encouraging the yahoos, to bring their automatic rifles, to threaten Democrats, to DRIVE them into shutting their mouths, so the elderly can be slaughtered in peace, IS NOT WORKING.

When you have the youth, that DESPISE Trump, and the Democrats, that do also, and you add the elderly and vulnerable, all there is left, is the extreme right wing, his base, which are the only people he cares about. And NOW we see that crystal clear.

When Dr Oz found it APPETIZING, that opening up could ONLY cost us 2 to 3 percent of all our children, DEAD, that set parents on a crash course as well.

Trump is toast, unless they can as they Im sure have planned, limit us from voting. Make voting as dangerous as possible. And for Gods sake, blame it all on foreigners.

This reality TRUMP has CREATED of an already scary situation, shows clearly why we said, Trump will have a crisis which he will not pull us out of adequately.

HERE WE ARE. ALL our lives threatened. See you at the polls.

Way to early to be predicting a win for either side.

We can say there are some real problems for Trump and Republicans in Florida.
Only 5% of new applicants have received any unemployment benefits as of Monday because of the way Republicans designed the state's system.

Job loss is going to remain huge in the state, most likely past the election, because of the large tourist trade.
The Republican governor was very late in shutting things down ( the whole Spring Break thing).

And the Elderly are very angry with Trump and Republicans for comments about how they are expendable in
the economic centric, rather than health centric, Republican call to go back to work. If Trump loses 5% of
the above 60 crowd, the entire national map changes.

“States are safely coming back. Our Country is starting to OPEN FOR BUSINESS again. Special care is, and always will be, given to our beloved seniors (except me!),” wrote Trump, 73.

Trump mentioned me, therefore I KNOW he cares. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Special care. I would like to see that defined.

Special care. There you have it. Just like he calls things PERFECT, and miracle. I feel safe now. NOT.

We're mid-seventies, we can handle ourselves. Let the low-risk people get back to work so they can keep their homes, keep their SUV's, trucks & cars, and support their children.

By the time you reach 60 you should have seen a few things and know a few things and have learned how to cope with hardship and adversity.

So, shame the elderly and vulnerable, into shutting up, and going along, caling them SELFISH, for not dying like a good citizen. NOPE. You don't get to heap that on. NOT your choice.

Our choice is to stay hunkered down while the low risk folks get to come alive again. We have no intention of dying, but rather to fight the good fight. The low risk folks shouldn't have to lose all they have worked for just for us.

You have to be particularly gullible to not see that EVERYONE is expendable to trump except for Ivanka.

Does the OP writer of that rant know Europe is also reopening? Whatever votes Trump is losing from seniors he's probably gaining from younger voters (the ones protesting) not happy about seeing their jobs and houses in dire straits.

Trump's re-election isn’t what you should be worrying about. If the country stays quarantined for too long, there won’t be an economy to reopen. Where do you think the money is going to come from to pay people to stay home? You prepared for your life savings to be either gone or massively inflated so that it isn’t worth anything anymore. Congrats. You get to keep living, but your life is now in ruin. Begging on food lines for scraps the govt doles out? No local stores open anymore? Mass poverty and starvation? Obviously the wealthy will get by. But the average person?

Better rethink your priorities. My parents and in-laws in their 70s have already said they're perfectly willing to risk themselves for the well being of their kids and grandkids. You have any family or investments worth saving? I don’t think you do or you’re OK living in a 3rd world country. I’m not that selfish.

Fine line between staying shut down and opening too soon.
What kind of shock waves are going to go through the economy if we have to shut it down again because of a sudden resurgence
of the disease? We would truly be screwed if that happens.

Nobel-winner Stiglitz: Poor coronavirus response leaves US on course toward another Great Depression
    https://thehill.com/homenews/admini...ronavirus-response-leaves-us-on-course-toward

Nobel prize winner says, TRUMP's fault. Not the elderly, and vulnerables, TRUMP's fault. Trump runs the show. And a show it is. HIS reelection SHOW. Biden who? All I see is the Trump show, EVERY DAY.

This is on one man, and all Republicans, for allowing it to be on one man.

It was the same for Obama, it's an American pastime to back-seat-drive for the President.

Bottom line for Trump - he's probably looking at 10% unemployment and negative GDP numbers coming into
the election in November. His base may be loyal, but without that 10% of swing voters in the middle, his chances
become very slim. Presidents with negative economic numbers do not do well in elections.

FDR did. If you want to cite precedent nobody has won an election for POTUS who has been in the Senate as long as Biden has. Very few will not understand the virus caused this. Trump is clearly the best choice to rebuild the economy after this, he did it once already. The only jobs Biden has created is his PR people cleaning up after his gaffes.

Painting an entire party with a broad stroke based on the words/actions of one is exactly what racists do. Wouldn't your false statement also represent your party?

Trump didn't get the GDP any higher than Obama did, and after the next two quarters, his average will be less than Obama's and his unemployment numbers will see the fastest increase of any President. Voters don't care about what happened two months ago, they only care about the "now". And in November, the "now" is going to suck.

Wrong news headline. It’s 300,000 old people have not shaved in the last few years and wonder why other people still do.

Economic reprecussions are going to be beyond Trump and even an incumbent's first full term. From the Great Depression, it was 1929-1951 ish. From the Great Recession(2008), it was 2008-2014.

So no matter what, the new or incumbent President will have an economic calamity to deal with. We just want to assure it's more Great Recession than Depression.

So this trend index shows that seniors prioritize their concerns differently than Trump's concerns for the entire population... Well DUH

Fake News always depends on setting a fixed point and directing commentary against it.

I would venture that Michigan voters who support the current dictator running the state would also firmly and overwhelmingly condemn internment camps being opened up in the state.

Austria and the Czech Republic have gone back to work. But as advertised, they are doing so with caution and with safety recommendations just like Georgia is currently recommending. Who would have thought?

Other countries don't have lingering neonazi relics, donning automatic weapons against the commies. Even Germany has simmered down. We have a LOT of folks that will not comply, and think they are PATRIOTS for doing so. They don't have a liar, every day telling them not to trust science, or anything but Trump.
