Trump lost because independents turned against him. They simply tired of his childish antics of throwing temper tantrums and call other names like a four year old spoiled brat who's parent forgot to teach him any manners. He lost because independents tired of his 3rd grade schoolyard bullying tactic. It's quite simple. Trump's personality lost it for him. He was his own worst enemy.

 

Yes, the best yard sign I seen this election cycle simply stated, "ADULT 2020." That sums it up nicely. You hit the nail on the head with analogy. This election was all about Trump, not necessarily Biden or Republicans and Democratic ideology, agendas and the like.

 

The only "supremacy" that interests me is my own.

Trump didn't help himself. He also failed to swing more democrats and independents to vote for him. Another mistake laid at his feet. That is a given. But he also had a tsunami of opposition called the MSM and big tech against his every move. I have never seen anything like it since paying attention to presidential elections starting in 1952, 68 years ago. Trump did not deserve the kind of press he received. It was never balanced. That is also a given.

 

I don’t see it that way for two reasons.Trump has a limit to his popularity by its consistent with his base. As soon as he starts trying to swing others with real programs, he may lose from his base.

So instead he used the other thing that scammers like Trump had working for him the first time. It was simply, he lied to every group he spoke to and told them what they wanted to hear. The first election, he did espouse better, cheaper healthcare, saving SS and Medicare to one group, while dissing social programs to another.

In the second elections, more independents just knew he lied all the time and would tell anyone what they wanted to hear. That doesn’t seem to bother his base.



The press ? They just pointed out his lie a minute BS more the second time around.....

 

Trump turned a SOTU address into a campaign rally and covid briefings into campaign ads. He held the RNC from the White House.

Trump deserved everything he got. I think he was treated kindly, myself.

 

Trump could have moved slightly to the center and picked up some independents and dems. That would not cause him to lose his base because there was no way they were going to vote for Biden/Harris, no effing way.

 

Trump just lost more women of every race. He just can’t hide he hates women of any substance who can think for themselves.

He tried. He promised things like improved healthcare. It didn’t happen even with a full majority. He signed every piece of legislation that was most conservative. The economy got worse for everyone who wasn’t rich, even before the pandemic. Worst of all, WE ARE IN A DEEP RECESSION NOW, and just like Bush, it’s the middle class who are getting kicked out onto the streets and losing their homes. The market only looks good as investors start buying up cheap property off middle class small business and home foreclosures.

The rich are showing an increase by 40% in wealth, even during the pandemic......huge deficit spending all going to the wealthy is the cause.
