    I agree 100%

I'm referencing the folks on here who are saying the only reason for the rioting in Portland, was due to the presence of Federal Police.

No, that's the test of anyone who realizes what socialism is, which is an economic system where the means of production are owned by the people.

It's not "anything and everything I don't happen to like"

Canada is pretty stationary, anyone preferring it can just head straight North. Can't miss it.

Who makes the rules, collects the profits and regulates the business is more important than whose name is on the deed. Maybe that's why so many businesses left us?

Anyone who knows Portland at all knows the radicals have been around for years.

"Portland's long history of activism, social change, and radical politics began with Coxey’s Army in 1893, a protest march to DC against economic conditions. Shortly thereafter Portland earned its reputation for labor struggles, especially on its port and shipyards. From there, laborers for Oregon's largest newspaper went on strike but they lost: the union was crushed; the workers were blacklisted; and the Portland Police Department created The Red Squad, their secret department for dismantling radical politics, now called the Criminal Intelligence Unit. This book heavily details student action from middle and working class academics who were opposed to the Vietnam War, storied events like the Vortex Festival, a psychedelic rock festival put on by Oregon's governor where drugs and nudity were allowed to keep the hippies too busy to protest Nixon's simultaneous visit, and events where the fear was warranted, like the faction of the Symbionese Liberation Army, the radical group who detonated bombs and organized bank robberies in Portland. Understanding the context of these events is very helpful in understanding the complex social fabric of what became the Portland of today."

Since when were political philosophies defined by one single policy? Is conservatism defined by being pro-life? Is liberalism defined by pro-choice? Anyway, keeping in mind that socialism is more defined by 'workers SELF-MANAGEMENT', Bernie Sanders has a policy to have 45 percent of a company's board of directors to be directly elected by the workers. Not socialist enough for you? :roflol:

Actually, I was thinking that it could have been a roundabout intersection, or an intersection with a fairly sizable median strip. Anyway, why do you consider this peaceful? It blocked traffic! You seem to think that the definition of peaceful is non-violent, but anything else goes!

    No, of course not.

Isn't your point that the feds shouldn't have been sent in because the majority of protests were peaceful?

Well you were talking about people who create a "decades long problem with radicals intent on co-opting peaceful protests to fight with police." So I'm not talking about people's opinions, I'm talking about people who fight with police, which wasn't actually legal the last time I checked.

No, that's Social Democracy. Socialism is an economic system, not a political philosophy, It has no opinion on abortion and worker's committees can exist in a capitalist system quite handily

Socialism is a "narrow" definition, Conservatism is a 'broad' definition.

Why don't you go look up 'narrow' and 'broad'? But then it doesn''t matter. Words mean what you THINK they mean. If you don't like it, it's SOCIALISM or communism or foofiraw or whatever you like. The lady next door had an abortion years ago? She's a socialist despite owning her own business.

Again "Words MEAN things" Rush Limbaugh (actually Samuel R. Delany, but I heard it first from Rush Limbaugh)

We can all agree on that but rational people blame the Chinese Bio lab the virus came from.

Wikipedia disagrees with you: "Socialism is a political, social, and economic philosophy" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialism

    Why do you mention abortion?

You a Rush fan? I'd be surprised if you were!
