It's their agenda. They are aborting their children at record number that the only way of keeping up their ideology is to attempt to brainwash ours.

If any kids show was left leaning....it was the smurfs.... they were as Communist as they come. Even had lazy snuff do nothing and never starved because others would work extra hard and share with him. They even shared smurfette.

That same thought crossed my mind, but the liberal swill of Seasame Street is readily apparent.

The right wing.... a bunch of people who see everything through the prism of fear... Yes, seasame street is an attack on your values of unconstrained greed and life of hatred and anger.

I find it hillarious how far right wingers are so oblivious as to claim that anyone even close to moderate is some" radical" left wing stooge out to get them.

What you call moderate is generally an far cry from the intentions of the Founders, moderate to contemporary left is getting to be more Marx than Madison.

Indeed. If Seasame Street was Rightwing it would teach kids to hate anyone who looks different from them, resent anyone less fortunate, and to worship money like a god.

Sure, because we all know how well that 'everyone is a winner' mentality works in the real world. If you can't win, don't worry the government will equalize your position with other peoples' money.

Seasame Street teaches that everyone is a winner? Source?

Thank you for not lying and trying to say that the Rightwing isn't about hate and greed though.

So you can show us a competition on Seasame Street in which there are clearly defined winners and losers?

I can clearly remember the death of Excellence in Education, when students actually competed with one another and those who couldn't keep up didn't advance. That all died away with the everyone is a winner movement that to this day is rotting the core of our education system.

The rightwing is about equality by law, success and failure are personal determinations, there is no need for hate, perhaps pity on some occassions. Greed is not inherently bad, only for those that cannot achieve a level of success for themselves hate greed.

To the Right Wing, anything that isn't overtly right wing is automatically left wing propaganda. I guess when you see the world in black and white, anything that is not obviously black must be white. Simple stuff for simple minds.

That's not what the show is about. Its not a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing game show, you get that right?

The main thing it teaches is basic knowledge and mutual respect and tolerance for others.

And trying to say there is no hate in the Right is just BS. All they have to do is put an openly gay character on Seasame Street for that to be obvious.

I know its not a game show, but it is a learning show, which means there is right and wrong answers, they do very little to separate the level of acheivement between right and wrong answers.

Mutual respect and tolerance? According to whose standards?

Non accpetance of deviance is not hate, simply a choice not to accept something you think everyone should accept. You call it hate because that's a strong word, it rallies liberals to the cause.

More of the world is black and white than you might think. Liberals cannot understand simplicity, and must work very hard to paint everything grey. If the government is trillions of dollars in debt the simple answer is cut spending, the only people that can't see the simple truth in that are liberals. If the Constitution says 'shall not be infringed' a simple statement, it takes liberals decades and hundreds of work arounds to demolish that simplicity. I work to earn money, I try to keep as much of my money as possible, very simple, yet its only liberals that think someone else needs my money more than me.

Yet, as has been shown, that "simple answer" comes with extremely complex consequences. Cutting government spending to balance the debt is about as grey as it comes. It has many good and bad consequences.

Not really. The consequences are natural consequences for failure to prepare. There are only two areas in which any grey exists, Medicare and Social Security, as they are paid into by the people and there is a reasonable expectation for a the pay out for the investment. The only questions should be what is the accceptable return rate for the investment?

When exactly would that come up? Have you ever actually watched Seasame street?

There's only one standard because only one side actually teaches tolerance. It certainly isn't the Right.

See, here's the problem. Your definition of "deviance" is 100% subjective, not to mention anti-freedom. You want to further restrict people to fit within the bounds of your subjective morality. The left wants to free people to live their life with being restricted by others morality.

If you find it comforting to look at world in black and white terms, fine. The fact that it isn't so is simply too confusing for a lot of people, particularly those who receive the Conservative catechism from the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity and Beck (and the politicians who follow suit).

Okay, what about Defense, Energy, Education, Agriculture, the Interior, Transportation?

Should we just slash all of them? That will have only positive "white" consequences with zero "black" negatives?

Specifically, I would say Seasame Street is pretty politically neutral and generally a positive influence on children's learning and ethics. I would call that a very "moderate" show.

So to find Seasame Street offensive, requires a degree of fear and greed that is unhealthy.

The right wing needs to listen to themselves. Basically, their argument is that they believe life is about clawing your way to the top individually. So much individualism that it really turns into everyman for themselves and accepting exploitation and suffering of others if it improves their own fortunes even slightly. They don't believe the lessons being taught, to get along with everyone, accept that people are different, you have a self worth, you are special in your own way, and to try hard and be your best as person.

If you don't believe these lessons because you believe people should be more competitive and even hostile with each other, then the show is some radical brainwashing to you.

If you think that childrens shows should portray a dog each dog world where reality is that you should take every advantage and always look out for number one, then seasame street is evil.

But you know, that is a foolish viwepoint. A real "Capitalist" would protect their child from all that mush and love stuff and then when all those other children turn into weak worker bees, your child can claw over them to the riches of the world.

I would beg to differ. You say that the world is black and white and that it is liberals who can't see the simplicity of "Cut Spending". I would say that the problem here is that conservatives don't say "How to cut spending" which takes more than 2 words. But you can't accomplish the simple task of "Cut Spending" if you can't accomplish the much more gray task of answering "how to cut spending"

And once you tread into the gray, you end up with the Ryan Budget or some other fiscally irresponsible and unrealistic fantasy bill written by the hertitage foundation. All of a sudden you end up arguing voodoo economics where somebody is arguing that cutting taxes will increase revenue and cutting federal spending will decerease unemployment. It's economic fantasyland.

I haven't watched Seasame Street in 30 years, so I'm going off memory, I just know I hated it then and really haven't found a reason to like it now. I went to a bus in school, and found that the lessons on Seasame Street really didn't equate to what life showed me.

The right teaches tolerance, we rarely do violence to the intolerant left which works so hard to destroy our way of life.

The idea of multi-culturalism is equally subjective, as is its 'value' to society as a whole. Its not subjective morality, simple biology works itself into the equation, but then again we have discussed the virtues of simplicity and the lack of understanding of such things in liberals. The left wants everyone to cast aside any type of morality.

Its very easy, cut across the board, end of story. Start at 10% the first year and continue with an additional 5% every year until its in line. No additional spending without 60 Senate votes and a House majority unless its a declared war or declared national emergency. It would hit every agency the same, no favorites, no earmarks, no more vote buying.
