@modernpaladin Like we discussed, the same mistakes keep repeating. Who wants to bet that after this conflict, there'll be some new anti-US guerilla fighters? Hell, having seen the emergence of ISIS-K, maybe that offshoot is the direct beneficary.

Why must we keep doing this?

 

I don’t see the problem with weapons inspections and accountability so long as those things actually happen and tbh should have happened a lot sooner than 2 years after the conflict began.

 

That story is from November 22, not exactly news. Sounds like lip service or propaganda to me.

 

I doubt there is much weapons smuggling going on and I do believe the Ukrainian government is very quick to arrest anyone it does. The reasons? 1) Ukraine desperately needs to the weapons for its own defense and 2) They know if they don't the flow of weapons would be shut off

 

You have verifiable examples of it happening before?

 

al-qaeda, after arming the mujahideen when they were fighting the Soviets, for one.
