So Biden took the Houthis off the terrorist list, do you folks remember that? Then he put them back on the list when they started to act like terrorists. But when terrorists act like terrorists, what does Biden do? He considers taking the terrorists off the terrorist list if they act nice. To me this just screams surrender, weakness and appeasement.

If Biden goes through with this, then I can easily see a campaign ad being made of this.

How about we send a bunch of ships over there disguised as merchant ships and then when they attack them we do what you rightfully do to pirates? Which is to say blow their ass out of the water using spectacular amounts of artillery.

But that would take an actual real president and an actual real administration that could reach down there and actually grab a set of testicles.

But we have an administration that can't even tell you what sort of people have testicles much less reach down there and find a pair of their own.

Put the fear of Allah into them and send them to their 72 virgins just as soon as possible but we know that won't happen

I can see the strategic value in this. Right now we have no interest in fighting Houthi militants, there's nothing to be gained and it would be more of a distraction than anything else. We've got Ukraine and Israel going on which are far more important. You can't fight every battle at the same time. That's why you pick your battles.

Given that the Houthis claim the attacks are in response to America's support for Israel's war in Gaza, this seems like wishful thinking.

Of course it is, but that doesn't actually change anything.

Piracy deserves nothing less than a Swift and brutal response.

The label 'terrorist' lost meaning a long time ago. Now it is just a label applied to any group the US feels it needs to destroy. If we were being honest about the label, we would have made the IDF a terrorist organization like we did with Iran's revolutionary guard. But we only apply it to groups that do not align with our interests, making the label a bit of a joke.

Another alternative is to up the conflict in the region with military action if you don't wish to negotiate.

Exactly! Targeting civilian ships is not a terrorism and Houthis have the right to it, and many people agree with them:

Also hanging Muslim gays is not a terror and not a crime and Americans have full right to support it:

You can't negotiate with terrorists. The correct approach is to take out their missiles. I assume there is a carrier nearby.
