The point of US nuclear weapons is not to facilitate hilarity. Such sophomoric and frankly inflammatory behavior is beneath the dignity of a nuclear power.
I don't think you grasp the severity of nuclear weaponry then. Consider the following: For decades, the US has been harshly sanctioning, isolating, and demonizing North Korea over the latter's pursuit of nuclear weaponry. The US has said that nuclear weapons are so severe and so serious that only certain countries are allowed to possess them. Yet here we have the US Strategic Command joking about the use of these weapons, which are known by all the world to bring terrible devastation on other human beings. How do you think that looks to people outside of America? If there is one thing the US government should not be joking about, especially at a time like this, it's the use of nuclear weapons.

I was in the Marines, so I'm well aware of how soldiers behave. Joking around in the privacy of your own unit is one thing, joking around on a public relations platform that the entire world will see is another.
