In a since-deleted Facebook post, Mayor of Luray Barry Presgraves wrote, “Joe Biden just announced Aunt Jemima as his VP pick.”

Not as funny as Virginia's Governor Northam in either blackface or the KKK outfit but right up there. IF the Governor can stay so should this Mayor.

 

Shrug. It's just poking fun at the DNC and the absurdity of making sex and race the predominant factors in choosing Biden's running mate. (Or maybe that is the real reason they're so triggered by it, not because of any stupid belief that it's "racist" or "sexist".)

Besides, Aunt Jemima would probably be a better VP choice than any of the other names being floated.

 

IF the Mayor were to have a press conference I would suggest blowing up the picture below and putting it on stage with him.

No comparison (whatsoever) to the Northam situation.

Still, I wouldn't blame him if he stayed in office.

It is a tiny town of less than 5,000, and he has already said that he isn't seeking re-election.

Mayor Barry Presgraves has been in office since 2008, but earlier announced he would not seek reelection in 2020. A lifelong town resident, he had previously served on the town council.

There is NO "double standard".

The Office of the POTUS is unique, and it's occupant is subjected to a higher level of scrutiny than Governors or Mayors.

Biden has been quite clear his selection will be racist, only blacks need apply, and sexist, only women need apply. Aunt Jemima is black and a woman. She meets both criteria.

What's the issue here? BTW limiting his selection as he has would get him sued in private business.
