I already responded to your OP about kids, pointing out that stopping having kids isn't actually a necessary part of fighting climate change.

We could reduce the murder rate to zero by eliminating all people, too. Why not do that? Because obviously the side effects of doing so would outweigh the beneficial effect on the murder rate.

Stop pretending I haven't already answered your question. Or better yet, address the points I made.

Still running from my question I see. How many babies have you had or do you intend to have? It's a simple question, why are you running from it?

LOL. I'm not running from anything. It's just that, AS I HAVE ALREADY POINTED OUT, the question is irrelevant, based on a false premise.

For the record, I have two kids.

Now, given my response to your OP, please explain how that matters in any way. This ought to be good.

And then maybe you could get back to actually addressing my response to your OP.

OK great and thank you for finally answering my question. Now let's look at your assertion that your two kids add nothing to the global warming catastrophe you say is at our doorstep.
1: two more people to feed from agribusinesses that use massive amounts of fossil fuels to grow, and distribute food.
2: A bigger house to accommodate a bigger family built with logged and milled and mined products that are also huge consumers of fossil fuels. Then there is of course the extra energy used to heat or cool a bigger house.
3: you now have to have a bigger car to haul more people which uses more fuel.
4: soon your two kids will drive cars of their own adding to more fuel consuming vehicles built with more aforementioned mined material.
5: your two kids will then leave your home and want homes of their own so there will now be two more house built with more logging and mining and transport to build them heat them cool them.
6: then comes the day you and your wife become proud grandparents as your two kids have two kids of their own and then need more food, more cars and more houses. In forty years instead of just you and your wife their will be six more people on earth needing fed, housed and transported. I agree with you that is good for the economy but please tell me how it does not contribute to your AGW doomsday prediction.

If you would actually quote and respond to my actual answer, you would see that I did not claim "kids add nothing to global warming."

If you're trolling, you're not doing a very good job.

If you're serious, you're doing an even worse job.

So you now openly admit having children does indeed add to the problem of global warming that you cult members say will be our doom. You now agree with my OP. Thank you and I guess we have nothing to debate except your choice to have kids anyway which is a subject you would rather not discuss. Have a nice day:smile:

    So it was trolling, then.

    Get a life.

It's interesting how those on the left call facts and truth trolling and then run away. I guess it beats trying to defend an undefendable point of view

"Stop having babies" would be the practical equivalent of chopping off one head of the beast only for two more to take its place. It creates more problems than it solves.

I agree. Its a ridiculous idea and if taken too far it would destroy society. What would we then be saving the planet for?

And suddenly those that scream the sky is falling say wait a minute, maybe it's not falling but just sort of wobbly. If you truly think we are on the verge of catastrophic global warming why would you want to bring children into this calamitous event ?

Not sure I ever screamed that.

I believe there to be reasonable solutions to the problem that will bring about far better outcomes than a radical measure with negatives that outweigh the positives. Even if the measure was enforceable, which this one is not.

The reason to fight climate change is for the children of the world. Everyone should know the earth will continue even if it shakes man off like a bad case of fleas. It is not about saving the earth it is making the earth a better place for mankind. It is the ecology stupid.

I see you won't answer the question. If you think global warming is at our doorstep and crops will fail, deserts will grow and sea levels will rise, why would you choose to bring children into this crumbling world that will not only exacerbate the problem but suffer a short miserable life because of it. Or are you now suddenly saying AGW is not as bad as advertised and we have plenty of time to fix it if it even if it exist at all?

But if children and their needs for food, housing creature comforts and transportation add to the perceived problem how can having them fix the problem you say exist ?

"All you warmer cultist do. Hilarious!

"Henny Penny, more commonly known in the United States as Chicken Little and sometimes as Chicken Licken, is a folk tale with a moral in the form of a cumulative tale about a chicken who believes the world is coming to an end. The phrase "The sky is falling!" features prominently in the story, and has passed into the English language as a common idiom indicating a hysterical or mistaken belief that disaster is imminent. Versions of the story go back more than 25 centuries;[1] it continues to be referenced in a variety of media"

But your concern is not for children. Your OP is just a transparent attempt at ridicule because that is all you have left.

I do ridicule you AGW cultist for talking out of both sides of your mouth. One side says the sky is falling and we must act now to stop the end of times. The other side says well it's not really that critical and I'm going to bring more children into this world because it's bad for the economy if I don't.

Claims without evidence....they are easily dismissed. I could just as easily claim you kill kittens on the weekends. What do you have against kittens?

I have never, ever, heard anyone but deniers say the sky is falling. You are the ones that drum up all the drama. It is all y'all have left.

I did answer. I don't believe "the sky is falling down", I believe there are reasonable, legitimate solutions to the problem that will actually produce results. I don't support a measure that would likely collapse our socioeconomic system and which cannot even be enforced in any meaningful way. It is pointless to talk about a scenario which is not even pragmatically possible to begin with.

Are you really going to try that desperate move too? Did you not read post # 167?

So you think AGW is not anything at our doorstep and we have plenty of time, generations even to address it . I would agree with you on that

It is a serious issue with significant consequences that has already been affecting us for years now. However it is by no means unmanageable. Hyperbole and fear-mongering is not the answer here; what we need is to adress the problem in legitimate and effective ways. We have made a lot of progress on that regard already, though a lot more needs to be done.
